Peachy! Because she can float in the air! And not only for that...

Toad is my favourite Mario character, so how fitting that he's my favourite SMBX player. He has amazing traction, and he's fast.

I second this and the fact that he gets a double jump when he has a leaf or tanookie.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the double jump! It only adds to how awesome he is.
Yes. I agree with that. Toad is awesome, but so is Luigi. If you need to do extreme jumping always use him. These are my favourite characters.
It's true that Link can ruin, for example, a bouncy mushroom because his sword can kill almost any NPC. But he's useful with custom graphics, as someone of the Mario Universe can take his place, like Yoshi, Wario or even another form of Mario as recreated like in SM64.

The ammount of hatred towards link is making me sad.
Do i have to re-write the motherfucking guide to link again? Like there's more complexity to his gameplay rather than "Stand in front of something, attack it"
Asides from his hindered ability to move objects, he's actually fine with all of the level designs.
Heck, i'll go as far as promising that i'll let's play the /entirity/ of the next tower of the bias as link.

Good to see we both have devotion toward our favorite Character! I played All of Tower Of Bias 5 with Peach! The only level it was an issue was in @bossedit8's level where a "blue" Yoshi was needed and a "Purple" Yoshi was needed!

My favorite Playable Character is Peach. She's ability to float in air, allow to most precisely to aim. It is very useful, And grub fireballs allows to throw its up, very useful in underwater, for "cooking fried fish" , what swimming over character's head. But I don't like fish, not for eat, not for swimming in levels, too annoying NPCs . And I was annoyed already by plots where her kidnap. It is very good when she participates together with Mario.

I actually really like playing as Link. Even if it's a little frustrating to get him moving again whenever he bumps into something, I just feel safer and more powerful as him. The way he's able to attack around and below himself in midair is great for anytime I realize I haven't quite aimed a jump right, and he always has access to higher-tier powerups for projectiles. Plus, once you figure out a way to avoid having to stop and get up to speed again, Link can plow straight through most stages just as easily as any other character.
Toad is pretty great too, mostly because of his speed and that double jump he gets, but Link is just way more interesting to play as.

Samus is a good character to use.
But I prefer to use Luigi, because he jumps higher than everyone, and this can come in handy!
Toad is also a good character to use. But it can't slip!

My favorite character is Link for a few reasons. First of all, I just find the Zelda II style gameplay very fun to play, and attacking enemies feels very satisfying. It also gives you more things you can do when playing, for example holding bombs in your inventory and throwing them somewhere else, and keeping keys in your inventory as well. Above all else however, my favorite thing about Link is that all of my favorite custom characters are usually replacing Link (Simon Belmont, Zeus Guy, Toon Link, Lucario and of course Samus).

Usually I like to play with Luigi because he jumps big and can spin jump unlike Peach who's "just" floating. Underwater I like Toad because he's the fastest swimmer.

Don't know why was this bumped, but anyway let me say I don't have any favorite character. I always play with Mario since he is at the top of the character list in the selection. I'm more interested to play the game instead of choosing the character, unless a certain level needs a certain character to get something.

IIRC it's not a bad to bump it aslong the post that bumped it contributed to it.
Anyway i go between Mario, Luigi and Link. Link is rather rare so thats why i use him more then Peach or Toad.

I like Luigi the most. He's got them hops, and he's basically Mario but more underrated.
Mario is an all around good character, so I'm neutral on him.
I would use Toad and Peach more because I like their abilities, but I'm not used to the way they throw objects. It messes up my play style.
Link is only good in certain situations.

Thanks to my episode I've learned to appreciate all the characters. My favorite out of all of them is Link due to all the variety he has, you can make some pretty interesting levels if you use him right that's for sure.

My favorite character is also Link since he's rarely used and his play-style is so different from the others that he can break most episodes that the creator forgets to block him in. My second favorite would be Toad since he's basically a faster version of Mario.

I really have no preference as long as it isn't peach. Typically I use Mario since he's the first one in the list.

I use Mario because of his medium skills
Second favourite would be Luigi reaching hard platforms

I'm one of only three people who voted "Custom", though a custom character could be ANY of the main five, just with different graphics. There's a reason why I'm always wanting to make episodes with Touhou characters such as Cirno.
The character I prefer in terms of gameplay, though, is Link (though I'd probably put a Youmu Konpaku sprite on him or something). Why? Because the fact that he uses a sword allows for a more "serious" type of platformer, like Castlevania. Just to add to the fun, put ALL enemies on jumphurt=1 and playerblocktop=0 and you can no longer stomp them or stand on them, forcing you to rely on your weapon as you would in the more serious games. This can drastically change the way you fight against some of the bosses: Larry Koopa is one of the easiest for Mario, but can be quite a challenge for Link if he can use only his sword. Wart is a nightmare for Mario, but Link can just stand in front of him and repeatedly stab him to death without trouble. Boom Boom is easy either way ¬_¬
Also, Link would be the optimal choice to make myself playable (That ninja boy in my profile picture, that's me... or rather, my fanfic self).
Still, what characters I use for a particular episode depends on what style of episode I want to have. "Cirno the Fairy" is Sonic-inspired, so I'm using Toad for Cirno. My (currently cancelled) Super Hinata Land was going to be a more basic SMB1 style, so I would have used Mario for my beloved Hinata. A SMB2-styled episode I was making about Kogasa Tatara would use Peach as Kogasa, and my Castlevania-inspired episode would use Link.
