bossedit8 wrote:Wow, this looks amazing as I can tell by the screenshots. Nothing wrong by your designing. I am really looking forward to your SMBX Episode.
It will definitely be a while before this is finished, but I am glad you like it and look forward to your playthrough of it in the future.
ElTipsta wrote:Wow, I am absolutely loving the new screens! There is so much attention to detail in these screens and I love it! Also, what's the third screenshot's theme supposed to be? Is it some factory-magic-cave kind of hybrid because I'm not sure. Great project though, truly one to watch!
Thanks! I am happy with your comment. The third screen is indeed factory themed (well, technically I wanted it to have electric elements so I added mechanical areas into it). It is also combined with a starry theme.
Aeon Wisp wrote:The 21st screenie looks like literal excrement. Could you, at the very least, make it more yellow-ish?
I am actually considering remaking that level. I have received a lot of complaints about that level's graphics, and in addition, it is quite long and definitely not one of my favorites, so I will probably remake all together with new graphics and everything.

This project is one of the best ones I've ever seen! I can tell that you put an exorbitant amount of effort into every single level, the atmosphere of each level is completely different. Though I hope the level length won't be too long because players may get bored unless you can make levels that can keep fresh and long at the same time. Well, judging from the screenshots, I'm sure your project will be a success!

Your new screens are amazing, I love this details in each screen and level, this graphics is perfect and unique, I love your design. My only complaint is ,on the screen of colored cave , where have "factory" , the black tileset perhaps "no combined" , but the level looks very good. I'm loving this project , for me this is one of the best in the forum (I really wanted play your demo!)

Thanks for the comments, guys.
Now, I have been having second thoughts on how this project is set up. I originally wanted to make every level have a different number of stars since it has rarely been done before, and that it would be too similar to projects that use similar methods (Super Mario Star Expedition, A new Beginning, The Twilight Star, etc.) But now that I think about it, I am not sure how people would end up liking it because of its inconsistences regarding the stars. I have created a poll to see if you guys think I should have the levels have the same amount of stars, or any number between 1-4. I would definitely like your opinion so I can know what's best for this project.

Finally an update. I have been doing a lot with this project lately, and I will say that a LOT has changed. To anybody who played the demo of this that I released on Knux forums a while ago, forget that it ever existed. Erase it from your minds. The new version that I have made is 100 times better than the one that you might have played. Almost everything in that version has changed significantly, and I've hopefully corrected a lot of the things that people didn't like.
-All levels now have three stars. I didn't get much of any responses of the poll I made regarding how many stars there should be, but the results told me that I should make every level have three of them. I feel that it is important that I make an attempt at making this somewhat consistent.
-I have integrated a deep and somewhat complex story into this. Many of the levels have been modified for this purpose. I hope this will make it more interesting when this is all finished. The new plot is now posted on the front page.
-Many of the levels have been changed or modified to a large degree. As I said, almost all the levels from the first world have been remade to match my current design standards. Many of them are much better designed and fitting for the first world compared to the ones in the version that I released. I haven't updated the old screens with the new levels yet; I'll get to it sometime, though.
-As you might have already noticed, the world themes have been changed once again. There are now nine worlds. Making any more than that would simply take way to long considering the pace at which I am designing.
For those of you who don't know (which that's probably most of you), I started world 4 in January, and now it’s September. It took an insanely long time to make some of these levels, plus my lack of inspiration didn't help much either. I have now started world 5, and I am feeling much better about it than I was with world 4. I have a lot more inspiration and hope I can make all of the upcoming levels as best as I can.
Also, I would really appreciate it if I could get some more beta-testers. Most of my old testers have become inactive. My two remaining testers are SuperMario7 and zlakerboy357. I would really appreciate it if I could get some more support.
I have prepared some new screens to showcase my recent work. I hope you guys like them, and I'll take in any comments or criticisms that you may have.
That's it for now. To my beta testers (SuperMario7 and zlakerboy357, or anyone else who offers to help), expect Demo 4 fairly soon. To everyone else, enjoy this update, and please give me some feedback. It really helps motivate me to work harder on this.

I'm really impressed with the new screens! The levels seem really well designed and the graphics are amazing as well. I also really like the story, and I'm happy your revamping your old levels to make them even better. This demo is gonna be really fun! Can't get to get it. =P

Yes, you can be a tester. The extra help would certainly be nice. I will send you and the other testers Demo 4 when I finalize it. Until then, welcome to the team!

I'm a little late to the party, but these new screens are looking great! I really like the amount of nonlinearity that is being shown. I particularly like the ice cave screenshot! Good work!

Oh man, your Level Design is just amazing and it keeps me interesting of your future Works. Your mix of factory tiles in one screen, I see that you are using my own Tiles aswell and used them very well (Hehee). Looking forward to them.

@MyNameIsEric52: While I never asked anyone to make a logo for this, I definitely appreciate that you made that for my project. However, I think it could be improved. The big "SM:" Part looks kind of weird and the edges are off. It’s too big as well. Maybe it would look better if that part said "Super Mario" using the same size as the part that says "First Class." I might use it then, but I'm afraid that it currently isn't good enough otherwise.
Anyway, I've finally sent the forth demo to my beta testers. I should resume progress with world 5 and hopefully post a new screen in a fairly decent amount of time. No new updates or anything like that this time, though.
