Unnecessary Level Approval System

Postby MarioWorker12 » Sun Feb 09, 2014 4:13 pm

I think this is the right place to say this and no, I'm not complaining that needing an approval for you level to be moved into Levels subforum is nonsense. The thing I can't comprehend is, why do we need an approval for our levels to be publicly viewable? My best guess would be that you guys try to prevent unpleasant content, but in that case shouldn't the same rule apply for every topic? Plus, judges review the level before making it public, so most levels don't even appear on submission subforum - in fact, ever since I registered, I hardly ever saw more than one topic there (that one being submission rules topic) so I guess (and suggest) we should remove the pre-approval procedure thingy. Thoughts?

Really, I think it's a cool concept but my only problem with it is that you can't view your own level while it's there; it makes me paranoid that I forgot, never, or accidentally hit submit and it doesn't exist. Currently, there should be one unapproved there named Substantial Steppe but once again I'm concerned. I guess it's "unnecessary", but it's all right to feature. It's just vanishing out the joke levels though, which I personally don't agree with. At least it motivates the level judges, too. They're being pretty responsible and active.

Actually an approval system makes the judges review your levels, remember in Revived? half or more of the levels didn't have a review, with this system you WILL get a review

I remember going to a forum where one of the boards was like the Level Submissions forum in that all threads, except for the thread explaining the forum's purpose, were hidden for normal users. But in that forum, whenever you posted a thread there you could see it, but only you and the groups with permissions to that forum. Is that possible with phpBB?

I really wish that if the levels do not get a review during a week or longer, they do get moved to the Level Section and is perfectly viewable no matter if there is a review or not.

I want in this forum is have the levels in the Levels forum and users can say errors and such. But this system can be acceptable to me.
