Palette Recoloring

Postby Mista Epic » Wed Sep 03, 2014 11:26 am

Hey, if anybody wants to know how to use a Palette to Recolor something, there's a GIMP filter! Post Here! Also, there's Palettes you can find here! You need to convert and export the palettes to be GIMP-ready however. You can use Paletton for that, or use GIMP's Image Convert to Indexed. I also feel like it should be worth noting that more about palettes can be found here, and also that GIMP can be downloaded for free here!

Meh...

There isn't only the SMB2 palette (http://imgur.com/2z97Yly). Also I'd recommend to download paint.NET 3.1.1 instead to recolor graphics.

I have PAINT.net but have no idea how to use it to recolor things using palettes. If you could help that's be great.

That's easy. Just use a thing called "pick up color" (or how it is called; anyways his usage is to pick up a specific color), take a color from the palette, then switch to the bucket (that thing which change the color of a section to another color) and start recoloring. Hope you can understand me.

You don't need a gimp filter, you can just open a colormap tab, double-click the color you want to change, then get whatever color you want it to be. That's what I've been using for the past 2 years, and all my stuff has turned out fine.
