2 Player Problems

Postby OneOf99 » Sun Aug 24, 2014 10:02 pm

I'm having a little bit of trouble. Whenever I want to do two-player mode with my sister, our characters can't jump. If anybody has any idea of what is happening, please help. Two player is fun and I can't do battle levels now...

Make sure the players Jump button works, or either see if the jump key for you both is in the correct one. it just may be your keyboard.

Make sure both of the players controls are set up correctly so 2 players can play each other very well. Also, it can be a little issue which having a lot of buttons pressed and it can be the case of "not responding" the buttons while a lot of them are pressed down. I had this issue while playing with my friend on a SMBX Episode.

I've double checked and the button configutation isncorrect. But it probably is about too many keys pressed. Even though there seems to be nonsolution, thanks guys.

Maybe there is a way of having 2 Keyboards plugged in instead of only 1. That way it won't overdrive your Keyboard all that much with too many buttons pressing on only 1 Keyboard.

Or use XBox controllers.

Fun fact: every controller I have for SMBX has the problem of either not working or being unable to press up, because the game thinks it's being held when it's not.

There is something about how SMBX handles controllers. But anyway yeah, two players trying to use the same keyboard will usually run into problems. This is a problem with the keyboard itself; it's not made to press many buttons at the same time. Chances are, you won't find one that can do that easily.

Welp, I could just plug in the adapter and use my brothers' wireless controllers. But that may be different for different computers.

the only way this would work is if you had one usb and one ps/2

the xbox drivers come with windows, its literally plug and play and then bind the keys and i use a third party controller..

plug and play on 7+. for xp and vista (vista might be plug and play) there's some drivers you can get here. seriously though, drivers aren't scary its just a simple installer and maybe a reboot.

oh, and as a note. you can mix and match devices for multiplayer, for example player 1 can be keyboard and player 2 can be xbox controller and vice versa. seriously though, i can't recommend controllers enough for this game at least for 2 player. you can get some decent afterglows for like 20 bucks, its value is doubled if you plan on getting/already have an xbox. i bought the afterglow with the intent of pc gaming and i've gotten so much use out of it because most of my friends own xboxes and its nice to byoc. :)
