Oh, I didn't mean to involve you in this. My comment was aimed 100% at FanofSMBX because, for this review as well as two of my previous reviews, he tried to counter them. At first, I didn't bother to argue with him and I let his posts stand as a possible counterargument, but this time, I was arguing with you, and I got upset when he tried to resume the Bob-omb-graphic argument even after you had conceded.
Magician wrote:As for your last point, this obviously isn't your thread and you don't get to police the kinds of discussion that will occur in it, also, that's a really weird reason to review an episode. Most people give out reviews to tell other people about the episode, not just the creator. If you wanted to give him direct feedback without inviting other opinions you could easily have PMed him.
I guess you're right. It's just that I never really expected anyone but the creator to respond to my reviews. By the way, thanks for having a more reasonable response to my review than reghrhre did (I posted my review on his forums recently).
Magician wrote:If I ever actually MAKE my episode(s) I'd prefer to have you on as a beta tester rather than a reviewer after the fact (though that's if you actually wanted to do that, of course).
All you have to do is send me a PM with a link to it, like my signature says.

What a sad ending....
What was Mario doing through this whole ordeal?

Only thing I can tell you right now is he isn't really mentioned in this Game, which is obvious as of why we asking what happens to Mario. :P

He was mentioned 2 times: at the intro of the game and at the end of world 5, when the level intro must be replayed.

Then I overlooked it by accident for some reason. But still, Mario isn't in this Game on our Eyes.

I really like this SMBX Episode. I had fun playing it, even know a few Areas was very hard but I can respect the difficulty anyway.

Is there a link to your review on reghrhre's Forum? I'd like to see his reactions to your review.

I can't quote it vertabim but reghrhre's reaction was more or less "You're being very pedantic and I can't be expected to fix all of these minor flaws especially with an engine that has its limitations." imaynotbehere4long then truncated his large request for changes into only having some of the bigger things that concerned him.
That forum doesn't exist anymore and I don't think much will be done to change LFFTMK. reghrhre is, however, working on a sequel in the form of a ROM hack called Apparition Eradication.

(Version 1.1) Luigi's Fight For The Mushroom Kingdom

Postby reghrhre » Tue Aug 19, 2014 6:29 am

First things first: NO I AM NOT BACK, I AM ONLY HERE TO SUBMIT THIS LONG NEEDED UPDATE

VERSION 1.1 RELEASED! CHECK THE FIRST POST FOR MINOR DETAILS.

Be happy, Imaynotbehere4long, I at least took a decent amount of your review into consideration. I mostly did this update due to 2 major errors that have been discovered. The first being the fact that the player can get completely trapped because of the warp to 7-6 and the other which is being able to cross the huge gap in 5-5 without the use of the Peach playable.

Changelog
Spoiler: show
================
Version 1.1 Changelog
================

-----------
General
-----------
- All bullets that come out of the pipe Bullet Bill blasters are no longer to be stepped on. (2-6, 2-8, 5-1, 5-2, 5-6, 8-3, 8-4)
- Replaced the level tile for 2-8 on the overworld with an airship tile.
- Fixed the Peach playable. If you looked closely you could see some very faint transparent box around certain frames for the Peach playable.
- The purpose of the stars are now explained and you should be able to know which levels have stars
- Some levels that had podoboos had ! above them while most levels didn't have them. I removed the ! warnings from levels 3-5, 4-3, and 4-3 Boss for consistencies sakes.
- There were originally 2 songs that were unnamed (Both had the name "Untitled"), they have now been named.
- Made the star level tile for the map invisible

-----------
World 1
-----------
- Made it so the "don't hit stuff that's above you from underneath when on a Skypop message" popup at the beginning of the level instead of hitting the message box to figure this out in 1-Intro.
- Fixed the issue where the music wouldn't play in the Warp to 1-1 level

-----------
World 2
-----------
- Made the bombs generate way more faster in 2-8 Boss. Also fixed the spot where you can die if you touch a certain part of the ship as the oil is about a pixel above the ground.
- It is now possible to collect the first Yoshi Coin in 2-1. Fixed Chargin' Chuck's death effect.
- Did some edits to the some of the messages in 2-7
- Made it easier to get the mushroom that's literally next to the midpoint in 2-8. You can no longer reach the brown platform that you encounter shortly after entering Section 2.
- 2-House now explains the purpose of the stars
- Song for 2-1 has been discovered

-----------
World 3
-----------
- Removed a pipe which was supposed to go to a secret area but it didn't go anywhere in 3-1
- Fixed an area in section 3 where the skull raft ends at a lava corner tile which results in killing the player in 3-5

-----------
World 4
-----------
- Song for 4-7 discovered

-----------
World 5
-----------
- Made it so the "don't hit stuff that's above you from underneath when on a Skypop message" popup at the beginning of the level instead of hitting the message box to figure this out in 5-6 Continued
- Fixed an area where an airship dislocated the springboard attached to a pole in 5-1
- There was cutoff if you go high enough above the midway point, that is now fixed in 5-2
- (MAJOR) The player can no longer cross the huge pit in the beginning with a Leaf in 5-5

-----------
World 7
-----------
- (MAJOR) Fixed a major bug where the player couldn't go ANYWHERE (it only happens sometimes apparently) after they beat 7-6. Thanks to bossedit8 for fixing this for me.

-----------
World 8
-----------
- POW blocks in 8-4 are now invisible as they weren't when the screen shaking effects throughout the level occured
- SLIGHTLY Improved difficulty for 8-2, 8-3, 8-4, 8-5, 8-6
Don't expect anymore updates unless there's A LOT of things that need to be fixed or unless another huge error appears.

However, if you have any complaints, reviews, and such then please post it on my forum: http://supermariouniverse.my-board.org/
And please post some fucking reviews, general thoughts of the episode, etc., guys, I've only seen like, 2 which is extremely annoying and disappointing, at least make it feel as if me making this wasn't a waste of time.

This was updated, and I still feel like this game is way to god damn broken! You REDUCED the difficulty in World 8, but why does it feel like there was no thought put into the design to make it visually good or play well? There is so much shit going on that it lags my computer, causes me to die in instant kill lava (which was retextured so you had an excuse to put it ANYWHERE you wanted) It honestly just isn't worth the 8+ hours it takes to play UP to this point to even finish it.

If the game didn't feel like I was constantly in an Airship with its unending bullet spam, maybe I'd consider this game good overall. But for now, this game just has way too many game-breaking flaws that only few were taken "into consideration".

I still plan on doing a somewhat long review of this when I finish it. I will say it is incredibly hard, but there are a lot of amazing gimmicks that make it interesting if you can tough it out. there is more to come as soon as my life slows down enough to finish the episode.

I know this may be off-topic, but can I ask how the maker of this episode made the worlds have custom music? I'd really like to know.

You replace the default music with your custom music.

Rename your custom music to one of the original musics and put it in the music folder

The only way you can change stuff like the world map music or the default selections is to replace them over the installed files. When you click music options in the editor, you're telling SMBX to pick a specific mp3 out of the music folder and play it. For example when you tell the world map to play World 1 music, SMBX plays smb3-world1.mp3 from its "music" folder. If you want smb3-world1.mp3 to be something else, you have to take the mp3 that you want to play instead, and name it smb3-world1.mp3, and save it in the music folder.
There is no way to do it as part of an individual episode, so you have to either backup your music folder before doing this or create a separate SMBX install specifically for your episode.
