Bgos appearing over Bgos

Postby Radishl » Sun Aug 17, 2014 6:21 pm

I have some bgos I have that I want to appear over some bgos but sometimes one gets infront of the other and when I click it the other similar ones go over the other bgos and so on and so on.

Is there a way to prevent this so that a bgo always appears over a bgo.

I think most of the bgos when placed have identical z axis values, so whenever the game is reloaded (or the objects are clicked), they're drawn to screen in a random order. Unless you replace specific bgos that always appear in front of/behind other bgos, I don't think what you're asking for is possible.

That's extremely unfortunate. Know any bgo's that always appear infront?

All three of the table pieces in the SMW Ghost House section of Backgrounds.

Though I'm wondering if Radishl actually wanted BGO's that get drawn over others, but not over Mario.

If that would be the case, then...:

One way I believe is to use the Sizeable objects, though this would only work if you'd make sure you didn't have access to the top.

Also, I believe that the SMB3 black background BGO's are always behind everything, though they have to be always perfect square bgo's since they don't have a black 'm' image for transparency.

Then another way would be using a image editing tool (So it would be a little more time consuming) to create and replace a single BGO that would contain both BGO's in the Z order you'd want them to be.

You could have whichever BGOs you want to stay in back replace water, because those are always layered in the back, as long as they aren't mixed with the black exit tiles or battle backgrounds (75-78).

Ok I have some water and I want the coral to go infront of it. It seems to be working now. But it screws up when I click something.

Thanks Chad.

No problem. It's normal for it to screw up when you click something, but it'll always revert back to normal upon saving, so it's nothing to worry about.

Radishl, You should use PlatGenWohl.
It might help.
When you click on a BGO, in the settings, you can set a layer for it.
No moar SMBX level editor crappy engine glitches!!!!!
