A Piece for the Night is a game I'm creating with RPG Maker. However, it's not an RPG nor does it make use of the default assets that come with the engine and are seen so commonly. Every graphic here is drawn by hand, from the worlds you walk to the characters you interact with.

The plot revolves around an as-of-yet unnamed girl who has been driven to suicide for unknown reasons. Sent to the afterlife- the prison of eternal punishment, Tartarus- she is given a chance for redemption and to find a new purpose in life. The purpose is ultimately up to player choice, and while one choice or the other can see good and evil, neither option is demonized and they both bring about their faults.
Gameplay mainly revolves around light puzzle solving. There is no combat. The idea is to meld the interesting, bizzare aesthetics seen in games like Yume Nikki while captivating the player just a bit through more traditional means.
There isn't a lot to show right now, but if there's any interest I'll keep updating the topic with pictures, gifs, etc. I also have a Tumblr mainly devoted to the game if you want to see more.
