I'd say it actually is proof of laziness/rushedness from an objective standpoint (again, I do enjoy playing it). The battle mode is still pretty good but there's literally no reason they couldn't include the race tracks alongside original battle arenas. They've made them in every previous game, there's no reason they should've stopped.

I agree. Perhaps when on the race tracks, everyone would move faster or get better items to make the battle somewhat different. Also, whatever happened to the mini-map? I know it's on the GamePad, but you have to manually select it when racing. Because of it's exclusion from the main screen, I now find myself checking the rearview mirror every three seconds or so.

When I heard that normal races would be used instead of original battle races, I assumed that they would at least be conducive to battling (again, I think it works pretty well but could be better). Like for example, Sherbet Land could have the players trapped in the area with the Freezies, or Moo Moo Meadows could be limited to the Monty Mole area. It would've been a lot simpler.

Since i don't have the game yet,I dont really have any idea what the Battle Mode will be.But,I agree with Kyo,it IS kind of lazy.But hey,at least
we GOT a battle mode.

It's free DLC, just so you know, and is partly an update as well, adding the course map to the game screen among other useful features.

OH MY GOD DLC. Well, it's not too much but... it is what it is. Also, battle mode = laziness/rushedness. If you don't agree, look at how NSMB2 is lazy.

I think GBA Sunset wilds, DS Airship fortress and 3DS Neo Bowser City.

Definitely GBA and SNES courses. Maybe DS and Wii. I have no idea really. I just want Waluigi Stadium GCN and DK Summit Wii to return.

Personally, I'd LOVE to see 3DS Neo Bowser City in HD, any GBA track would be cool and I'd like to see a Retro BC, like the ones from MKW or MKDD.

Well, everyone would like any GBA track but the most wanted ones are Cheese land, Sunset wilds and Ribbon Road. What track would you like the most from GBA?

Any of the Bowser Castles, Yoshi Desert, Luigi Circuit, Sky Garden, and Cheep Cheep Island.

Crossing my fingers for Waluigi Pinball from MKDS. Yeah I know it was remade in MK7, but that track would look sickass in MK8, especially with anti-gravity.
