Instead SMBX, each BGO type have a Z-offset and flag view="foreground"/"Background".
I.e. BGO's will places with static default Z-Index. Later you will can change them for force display some BGO to foreground without hacking by SMBX sort priority, but these values can be saved only into LVLX format.
Note:
All SMB3-Exit BGOs I was display under sizable blocks. As I see, I made some mistakes in the displaying flags of some BGOs.
There are easy to fix this problem by edition of the
configs/SMBX/lvl_bgo.ini file. If BGO displaying under sizable block, you must set Z-Offset value to 0. Or if block is non-sizable - you also must set view to "foreground" value (see help into head of this INI file). After saving of the config file, you must reload configs and reload the level file for display applied into lvl_bgo.ini edits.
You can take ID of some BGO by properties dialog.
Also, please, don't name editor as "engine". Engine is a player of the games
