average? mediocre? you could at least be civil and not insult people's abilities
also if you were to look at the list
you'd see even tier 4 goes through quite a few changes
lol yk you can remove any of the judges and changes will happen

Wait a second.... this must be an error... I just calculated my score without Emral's score and I got a better one. Instead of 7.059/10 I got 7.07375.... EMRAL'S REVIEW ACTUALLY PULLS ME DOWN

*gets out pitchfork*

Let's do this.

i don't mind his review itself, he brings up valid points
but the score just doesn't correspond to it
in other reviews he just gives them shit for reasons that make no sense tho

In that case, have the ground and grass above it on a separate layer, and have that layer disappear when it is being covered up by the castle. Better yet, rather than have it come from underground (like you clearly stated you didn't want to happen), have it just appear, but with multiple layers, each being the same tile-set, but with a different level of transparency. Example: give the first copy of the tile-set a white mask sprite and have it appear first, then give the second copy of the tile-set a light grey/gray mask sprite and have it appear second (after a .1 or .2 second delay), etc. That would even fix the killing-Mario error.

Okay, where was I?

I thought you were referring to Kyo's comment. My bad. Even so, a judge's score is his own decision, and a few complaints won't change whether it counts or not. I agree, however, in the aspect that Emral could have said things a little nicer. For example, instead of
Emral wrote:Another short level. This one surprises me as it did a lot with as few enemies as possible while maintaining a general difficulty. It didn't stand out and was most likely rushed, but damn if the designer would've just done more with this. The frozen/thawing water gimmick would've been really nice to see here.
Guess: I really have no idea.
, He could have said something like this "Another level with few enemies that surprises me, how wonderful -_- I just don't feel as though the creator put in as much effort as he could have actually done," or something like that. I cannot speak through Emral's mouth nor know how he talks, but you get the idea.
Wrapping the review in positive points and ideas for improvement makes it less hurtful for the one who gets it. The points are there and the level was not completely bad. Gotta justify where those couple of points given are from. The scale used was different too.

Uhm but wouldn't it be able to glitch through the castle then? Like I said, I was too lazy to fix it, please don't judge me lol

If you haven't noticed yet, bossedit is German, and doesn't speak perfect English. As long as you understand what he's trying to say, just leave him, please.

@Blueoak: I really fail to see how average level designer is insulting or rude. I do personally consider you as one, but that doesn't mean I'm trying to insult you or something. I have only played one level from you, so I might be wrong about that, but this is my personal impression of you. If anything, it could be considered as offense if you call someone who is popularly acknowledged as some godlike designer, but I don't hear people talking about you as extraordinary level designer. There are a lot of people who consider that classification as compliment. Considering that as rude... are you feeling insecure or something?

@Imaynotbehere4long: I can totally understand why he left. You really wouldn't like seeing fifteen pages of posts about how you screwed up and how you are hated for something you actually spent a lot of effort and time on. This is a good solution to calm down for a bit. I'm certain it's only temporary to get away from the drama, though. I don't think it's permanent.

I was more referring to the mediocre part. That's more of a below average thing. And well, I'm a bit sensitive admittedly.

I'm not speaking english natively and since there is no direct translation for mediocre, I assumed it to have the same meaning as average, because that's how it's translated. My apology.
