Mario Chronicles: Now officially a Mediafire rant!

Postby Haydenman2 » Thu Jan 23, 2014 10:04 pm

Well, oops. Cleaning my computer and whoops there goes the "My Games" folder by accident. And "well I'll just download a month old copy from Mediafire and start from there" But nope. Mediafire cleaned their db from undownloaded files that belong to unviewed accounts. So there goes that option. It's been a good run. Mods, lock me.

All the info and everything is still here if you want to look at it for SOME reason.
Story
Spoiler: show
Storyline.
It was a peaceful night in the Mushroom Kingdom, everybody was happy and there was a huge party at Peach's house! Mario and Luigi were invited, and so were a whole bunch of Toads! Even people from different dimensions, like Link, came over to visit! But, late into the night, Bowser came on his airship and broke into Peach's house, and kidnapped her, Luigi, a bunch of Toads, and Link. All of the people who had gotten kidnapped by Bowser have been put deep into Bowser's Ultimate Palace that he has been building in his downtime. Now, it's up to Mario and Mario alone to travel far and wide to save Luigi, Peach, Link, and most of the Toads!

Demo
Spoiler: show
The Demo.

Hey, this is a demo for The Mario Chronicles. Now, before you click that big blue link that says "DOWNLOAD HERE" I must warn you, that this IS a Demo, and as such, fixing bugs for it and uploading it with no bugs is not my priority. Worlds 1 and 2 should be bug free for the most part but after that it might not be as such. Once again, bugs in here will not be fixed immediately. Upon the release of the full version, you can either choose to download as a patch to your demo so that you don't have to redo everything up to the demo's ending point! Enough talk, time for the link!

Graphics
Spoiler: show
Graphics Uses.
Since a Level Pack would be awful boring these days without custom graphics, I used quite a few of those custom graphic thing-a-ma-do-hickers(almost 100MB worth of them, too.) Thus, I decided that it would be generous to leave the names of all the people whom I used graphics from.

Music.
Just like with Graphics, a custom pack would be pretty boring without music. I used my fair share of music from all sorts of different genres, and I thought it might be considerate to mention that here.

The screens look pretty good, I like what you did with the (what would be) third screen with the ice screen anyway. The same can't be said for all screens though as a couple could use some more npcs, also the rest of the world map screen below the first/second could use more scenery. Overall, good project, and good luck.

Two words. Background. Objects.

I know I'm not really one to give advice as a level designer, but using BGO's is critical to giving levels flavor, and making them look less flat and boring. Besides that, though, the levels look fine. Also, like elitalia said, your world maps could use more scenery. I think you have great potential and if you could just give the levels a little more lively, they'd be wonderful.
