How do you savestate?

I've been watching bossedit8's videos, and he's been savestating in alot of the hard levels he plays. Are there any ways to savestate on SMBX?

I doubt it. On his video where he battles Marx from KSS, whenever he dies, he comes back to the level with the same coin amount, same score, same everything except lives. I never even saw a checkpoint right there.

Also on his random hard castle level video, he got 10 1Ups, but he respawned in a specific spot, but he lost every 1up he got. I doubt video editing can remove around 7 lives.

Well there are no savestates.

There is no way to savestate, he always plays the level all the way to where he was and then cuts the part that the viewer has already seen out of the video. The same coin thing is prolly just coincidence, I know for a fact that bossedit always tries to recreate the state the level was in before he died, i.e. defeats all the enemies, collects all the coins, etc.

Video editing can't remove lives, but dying 7 times and then cutting that part out of the video can.

Using the pause you can, I guess. Savestate doesn't exist in SMBX (what game could enable this feature?!) and all is the mgic of video recording

Because the World Map has Restart Last Level on death enabled which means he enters it again with the amount of score and coins. Mudkip made it.

Yeah, like all the other members already said, if I die I just Pause the recording session and if I get to the Point where I died last time (or if there is something else to discover a Level like secrets or so) I unpause the recording session and there is the Point where I Play again. There are no savestates implemented in SMBX which means it is tecnically impossible to abuse it like that. Bandicam (A Recording Software I use to record) can let me Pause my Video session which is very Handy in my opinion to prevent it to watch the samething all over again just to get to the Point where I died at. With Lives, I collect them (Coins too) mostly throughout the Level offscreen to prevent from retrying the whole stage again and waste time on it. By having the same amount of items I got, maybe it can happen very lucky if I walk at the same spot on it, just "Restart Last Level on Death" or more Events offcreen.
