SMB3 Styled Moonbase (Update)

Postby Fuyu » Thu Jul 10, 2014 10:51 am

After playing Sick Astros Cosmos and seeing multiple SMB3 underwater tileset recolors I've got inspired and made a Moonbase tileset. I've gotta say, it was harder to find for credits than making the graphics itself. Because of that I decided to exclude a couple of them, but anyway, I'm sure you can find them on your own.

The tileset itself looks really neat, but does it also have wider slopes? So 64x32? In that case, this tileset could actually be useful for me. And I think if the coral tileset would be minorly modified, it would look better since it still looks too much like a coral tileset, and not like a moon tileset.

Nah, it doesn't have, but I could add them if you want.

I'll see what can I do about the coral tileset.

Would be great, because 32x32 slopes are generally pretty ugly and don't even fit my design style. If you won't do it, that wouldn't be too tragical either since it's quite simple to do them myself. And if I'm too lazy, using corners instead wouldn't look too bad either. I think I'd use this for a factory level or something. That'd look actually pretty great.

Meh, I know it's not that hard, I'm actually half done with them. I recolored the moon tileset as well. I'll post a screenshot and update the download so you can check how it looks.

Update!

I recolored the moon tileset to look more like a moon tileset. Also added 64x32 slopes to the moonbase tileset.

@AirShip: Thanks, glad you like them.

Oh my goodness, yes! I'm so happy some space-related stuff finally made it on here! The graphics themselves look fantastic, as well, if a bit bland. Then again, desolate planets in video games tend to be that way, so, heh.

This is actually pretty beautiful. I think you could add some more decoration and hazards and stuff by restyling some stuff from the lab tileset (as this is also a base).

I don't know, I can't think of anything to add. But I did think some decorations from the lab tileset could fit here, but I prefer to don't mix them.
