Rules were stricted not onlyfor SMBXxer and Panda's thing, but for many things which happened in the forum and showed how some people are immature.

Some of you act like the forum rules are incredibly strict and it's hard not to break them. Well, they're not and I think it's irritating how some of you uphold the "this is a Mario forum and Mario forums aren't supposed to be strict" fallacy. This forum doesn't even have strict rules, and I've noticed that most of you have no problem adhering to them.

I like how everyone is overreacting again. This isn't really that big of a deal. I'm not saying any names to those people, however i will state that the rules are very fair and easy to follow. Breaking them is kind of hard.

The problem is that these kind of forums attract a younger audience, which probably means to them these rules seem stricter - and they find it harder to follow them.
If someone is too young to read and comprehend a basic set of rules then that person shouldn't register.

If they register anyway then I think it's perfectly adequate to ban them in case they can't keep up with the rules. There's the staff and the punishment system for this.

All of you high-up people who feel that it's right to enforce stricter and stricter by the day rules (or, as I like to call them, "laws") on the forum as a whole just because the same old turds did something that offended the same old other turd. IT'S NOT FAIR TO EVERYONE ELSE. Saying that you will enforce "stricter" rules and policies on this forum is the equivalent of being that school teacher who decided to punish an entire class just because one kid did something she/he didn't like, and that said kid who caused said teacher to snap on her/his class has been a jerk for quite a while. A long metaphor yes, but a true metaphor nonetheless. This is why we have the reputation system, because that way all you moderators and admins don't HAVE to make the ridiculous decisions who not only affect the small (very small) party involved, but everyone else too. Again, it's not fair to everyone else. Now, I doubt any of you could really answer this, but when you, moderators and admins, make these kinds of decisions to be stricter on the forums, do you think about anyone else besides you, the sole "victims" of a singular incident and the "malefactors" of the same singular incident, and how they are affected on this forum? Don't you understand that other forum users besides anyone even slightly higher in rank than the "registered users" group are ALSO affected by incidents that solely involve those who are higher in rank than simple registered users? A mouthful, yes, a completely random outcry from a completely random user, yes, but I really feel that this is a serious problem and that more people are affected than what you, the moderators and admins of this forum THINK are affected.

Thank you for your time.

Uh what stricter rules??? Also I'm used to really strict rules so you should be glad that the rules aren't super strict.

This whole thread may just be a stupid whiny rant over a useless argument, I don't really know.
I stopped there. Because this is all that matters. Glad you agree too. This is a useless argument, and I really don't see how it helps anything. You rephrased it and I understood what you said a little better, but I still fail to see a reasonable point in any of it. The rules are enforced on everyone, and will always be that way. If it wasn't that would be like having a jail full of people, except just because you don't contribute in the fights, you get better treatment. No, you're in jail, you get the same treatment, and the worse ones get worse treatment. (i.e. warning or ban)
Dear god. You know what this means right? You bringing this up just made me realize that I failed to use COMMON SENSE in my...umm...discussion. I-I don't even. All of you are right about me not making sense in this little...discussion...of mine, and you all would also be right about it being a useless argument. You could continue this discussion, or you could just lock this topic and save the discussion for another time, or never. The choice is yours.

We wouldn't even become Hitler Incarnate in the first place. We just have less tolerance for stupidity than other forum staffers have had in the past.
