Discussion and Debate for All that Doesn't Make Sense

This is the place to discuss anything you think doesn't make any sense and would like to debate it/argue about it. They can be serious or silly, but nothing that would definitely start a flame/trolling war, and nothing that would be offensive (racist, sexist, targeting specific people for something they did or said, etc.) to others.
For example (and these are silly examples), why do noses run and feet smell? Why are hot dogs called hot dogs when they aren't made of dogs? Why is it so easy to accidentally call a hot dog a hot dong? Why do people say that the sum of us is greater than all of our parts, when the opposite is true? And could a set of all sets contain itself?

Hard to come up with something that doesn't make sense though. Every time I get close to a topic another part of my brain immediately answers it D:

One thing I never understood is why most people to this day don't believe in the paranormal. Obviously there are apparitions and demons. There is solid proof, and if their aren't ghosts, what do they think people go when they die? In a black void? Or perhaps, they think there are infinite afterlives? Nah, you just go to heaven, or if you're diabolical like Chucky or Mario forum hackers, you'd go to hell and burn in fire and all of that stuff.

SO WHERE IS PROOF THAT GHOSTS EXIST? Just look down the toilet you'll find Winnie the Pooh's ghost! I mean... just visit these websites.

If you still don't believe in ghosts, I'm not going to call you dumb because that's plain rude, but perhaps visit some famous haunted houses around your area as long as they are an attraction?

WHY DID GANONDORF WIN IN OCARINA OF TIME? IT ISN'T POSSIBLE THAT HE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!! How could he win and lose at the same time?
Also, it DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!

It's like an alternate universe scenario, I think. In one reality (the one that is canon to the Adult and Child timelines), Link wins as we see in-game. In another reality, Ganon wins. It's kind of silly and unexpected but it makes enough sense.

Thought I'd revive this old topic by answering one of my own questions: Can a set of all sets contain itself?
This is an age-old paradox that everyone believes has no answer. The truth is however that it DOES have an answer: yes.
"A set of all sets" implies that this set contains every and all sets. In an infinitely large multiverse, there are bound to be an infinite number of sets. If a set of all sets can handle containing an infinite number of different sets, and an infinite number of each set (because of the multiverse thing, there are bound to be repeats) then it can handle containing itself an infinite number of times.

So, who has things they don't quite understand that you want to share? Anyone?

@Kep: I've experienced some paranormal things, so...
@IceMario: There is a timeline split for whichever happens. If Link won, it would go to Majora's Mask. If he lost, it'd go to Zelda I. I know this because I have a Legend of Zelda encyclopedia.

This is me hypothesizing, because I enjoy doing that on occasion, but I think multitudes of alternate universes were created when Link used the Ocarina, but the Triforce could only uphold three of them, and that each is represented more by one piece than the others. Either the dimension owing its existence specifically to the Triforce of Power increased its influence, or there were timeline shenanigans in which the use of the Ocarina caused an unfixable situation. Or a mix of both.

Besides that, Hyrule Historia is a fun little book but I don't give it too much credit for what goes on in Zelda games. There was never originally meant to be a timeline, after all, and that's why it will probably continue to get weirder and more twisted over time.
