(should I really be sharing something completely unrelated to Mario on here? whatever, here it goes)

Are you tired of SMBX episodes that keep featuring Nintendo IPs?
Want something new that will make you question if it even counts as an SMBX episode?
Well then this is the episode for you! (maybe)

Bagelmire Jones and the Really Frickin' Big Pit is an RPG/Metroidvania (or smth else idk) "SMB"X episode that features Bagelmire Jones the bagel themed cat as he tries to leave a really frickin' big pit (also his coworker is there too).

This is a DEMO, so please don't get confused if you can't complete some parts (It's literally impossible to %100 it). There (hopefully) will be NO updates until the full game releases, which I've been working on even before I got the idea of releasing a DEMO. (edit: this post has now been updated several times to fix bugs, if anyone encounters anymore, please reply) This DEMO mostly exists so people can provide feedback for me to implement in the full game.

THIS EPISODE INCLUDES:

- An inventory space for unique items
- Storage
- Cooking
- Bagelmire Jones
- FISHING MINIGAME
- Spookies and Sillies!
- An entirely original soundtrack
- Only original, custom graphics (besides littleDialogue I guess? I changed it a bit though)
- Worms with scuffed turning animations (I tried)
- You can airdash
- Bagelmire Jones

This DEMO may take around 30 minutes MAX, since it's basically just two levels with unnecessary amounts of bonus content.

Ik your game has some content warnings. I've played it so confident but... the first boss gave me nightmares unfortunately and I also think it's because I didn't beat it again and again (I recently discovered I have meatophobia, besides, exposed internal organs hit my eyes and brain so hard and make me very dizzy omg). :o
You did it really well introducing spooky stuff so, could you nerf that flesh monster and maybe work a little more on the mechanics please? I love original projects made with SMBX, I guess I'm just tired of vanilla episodes, very good choice, really.
Have you took some inspiration of Made in Abyss, Stray and maybe Pizza Tower? Anyway, it was a great experience.

Sorry about giving you nightmares on the first boss. Anyway, I've playtested the 1st boss a bunch and think I know what attack is making it difficult. If it needs to be nerfed, I'm thinking of making the pan attack shorter and making the attacks do less damage. Maybe I'll also add a practice dummy before the fight. As for the mechanics, I'm assuming it's either the pouncing or the collision that needs improvement.
In chapter 3, there's going to be a key item that automates pouncing, but I may put that earlier. The collision issues are also most notable with the bosses, enemies, and Quarl.
As for my inspirations, Pizza Tower is probably the most true, since I initially put Bagelmire in a Pizza Tower inspired SMBX episode as an OC cameo, before deciding to make an entire episode about him. Also I didn't watch/read Made in Abyss.
