Anime/Manga adaptions of video games

Postby FireyPaperMario » Fri May 05, 2017 7:36 am

To start off this new topic of mine, here's a sample list of anime & manga that were based off some of the good video games below:
  • Super Mario Bros: Quest to Save Princess Peach (Yes, it's an actual anime movie from 1986! :| )
  • Super Mario Amada (3 ultra rare anime shorts that parodies 3 famous Japanese fairy tails)
  • Super Mario Kun
  • Pokemon
  • The Legend of Zelda manga
  • Mega Man manga (It's very cartoony in my opinion!)

Feel free to discuss about other manga/anime based off popular games! ^^

I actually watched an English dub of this and thought it was pretty funny

Dusting off this dead thread to say that Splatoon has a manga and it’s sort of weird, that’s all.

I just finished watching Cyberpunk Edgerunners and although it's only 10 episodes long it's amazing. I saw something that said another Cyberpunk anime project is in the works so we'll see!

Shin Megami Tensei has several manga adaptations, but also was originally a manga? And I think it's also kind of based on Devil Man, or the other way around...

Anyways, Persona has traditionally gotten anime specials to go alongside it.

I dunno if it truly qualifies, but there's this bizarre Mega Man FMV game I sat through the other day, Super Rockman Adventure. Those were a thing for a while in Japan, from my limited understanding, but it essentially works like a little CYOA game, with different anime cutscenes playing depending on which decisions you take. The tone is also weirdly dark for a classic series title, it's an interesting little oddity.
