Does anyone know any free coding software i can learn scripting for?

I don't quite know what you mean by "learn scripting for", since what you learn scripting for is making lua codes in SMBX levels, rather than anything to do with software.
If you mean a text editor, many people use Notepad++ or Visual Studio Code or other lightweight code editors to write lua code for SMBX.
