Did you know that Animalese in Animal Crossing is basically just spelling out every letter of a word really fast?
EX: Animal Crossing in English would be pronounced "Ah-n-ih-m-ah-l c-r-o-s-s-ih-n-g"

I think an email address? I tried it once with the username "XR" and it did the same thing to me, so maybe it might be your username instead.

Not sure what caused that. The email box missing seems odd though. The username worked here, and the IP didn't trigger it so I'm not sure why the email box is missing and why that would have flagged you a spammer.

I censored my email address from the picture.

Originally, I did not put a answer to the "name a global modderator" question and I was using my onw username. Said "Username taken". So I switched it to something I used on Discord a few times for RPs. Maybe because of two consecutive failed attempts?

That would be my guess. Multiple failed attempts can look suspicious and lock you out.

Also, a thing about this guest thing is that we can name ourselves whatever we want unless its not a resigered username and I could use "Chancux2Again" as my username.

So umm, impersonating guesses are a thing now. Unless there is something to stop it?

I think the reason they can still make posts is because they aren't ip banned.

I think I have a solution tho. It won't work for most people but maybe if the Guest is using the same email as the person who was banned, they won't be able to post. It would work for me 100% but for other people, they could just create another email.

So there can't really be a fix to this but this could be a start. If they were ip banned there are ip banned. If they weren't, you can't just ban them for posting as a guest. (unless they do bad stuff.)

Anybody can make a new email to register, and it's pretty simple to change your IP. In effect it's really no different than regular ban evading. There's just a bit less friction since you don't have to activate an account. I'm thinking that the best option would be sticking to post approvals. They're temporarily turned off right now as I'm tinkering with the settings.

The way it's going seems to be okay. This forum may not stick, and I'll perhaps restrict Guests to just being able to reply to existing threads rather than creating new topics too. I feel like Guest posting would be a good way to handle user privacy for younger members since we don't collect any PII relevant to COPPA. Plus it seems like it could be more convenient to not login every time to make a reply, or make an entire account just to ask a question or leave a quick comment only to never come back.

This, there's been an influx of people creating accounts on here who either don't post anything at all or make a couple posts related to questions about SMBX or a review of a level, and then are never seen again.

I have a solution (I guess) for the people who doesn't post anything.

If they just create an account, doesn't post anything, never comes on. What if they are just deleted after a year of 0 posts? That could be a solution?

And I agree with Aero, guest couldn't be able to post topics. I think that is to much power and would make them just not create an account and if they don't, they wouldn't have the full experience of the forum.

I was actually thinking of this too for a long time, but it sounds cumbersome considering the amount of people that fit that criteria. I looked through the members list for people with 0 posts, and there are a ton. If we include people who've made up to 5 posts max, I think this amount nearly triples.

Ah, then I don't know then. Maybe a hibernation state where there account can't be logged into unless they contact a admin or Mod? This isn't really the best idea tho. (Also I said I'd stop posting but im just posting anyway. I just miss this place man and posting again warms my heart)
