Super Mario Bros. Ultra

Super Mario Bros. Ultra is a Super Mario Bros. X project being made by me. Super Mario Bros. Ultra is entirely SMB1 themed, and is meant to take place after Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. The story of the game is simple, King Koopa has captured Princess Toadstool, leading Mario on a wild goose chase across 17 worlds to find her!

This project is inspired by:
Super Mario Bros. 0
Super Mario Bros. 1X
Super Mario Unlimited
Mario Forever

This episode will only be playable with SMBX2.

The death function is unlike the normal death mechanic, the player has infinite lives, but has a death counter that counts all of the deaths throughout the entire game.

Super Mario Bros. Ultra has 17 worlds, Worlds 1 through 8 are the normal worlds, and after beating World 8-4, a path to World Special will open. World Special can only be accessed after getting all of the stars in the Letter Worlds. The Letter Worlds can be found via various secret exits in the normal worlds.

17 worlds? That sounds like a lot. How many levels does every world contain?
The screenshots seem interesting, though. The world map seems a bit lifeless at times, I would recommend you to add a few additional pieces of ground structure so it looks a little more natural and not just like some terrain to walk on.

Every world has four levels each. And yeah, I struggle a bit when it comes to world maps. I'll try to work on it.

17x4 levels = 68 levels. Ambitious but not terribly irrational ...

Development Update 1/29/22: Worlds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 0, and A are completely finished, As of now, World B-3 is halfway through being finished.

Honestly dude, at this rate you're most likely gonna release this project in the quickest amount of time, with great effort. I've been watching your progress in the SMBX Discord and it's looking great for one's take on the original SMB1 formula, especially with the traditional level format and the four-level worlds. Keep up the good work.

Development Update 2/9/22: Almost all of the worlds are done, and some thematic changes have been made for some letter worlds for pizazz purposes (I really couldn't find a better way to explain this, lmfao)

This look very cool,it's feel much more like a real sequel of the original Super Mario Bros than The Lost Levels or even Super Mario Bros 2
Keep up the good work,I can't wait for playing it.
