Speaking of Minecraft Live, do you think we will ever see a return to the Minecon format? Obviously wouldn't have happened this year due to Coronavirus, but is it possible Minecon will ever return, or will it always be Minecraft Live?
Minecraft Festival is the replacement of Minecon as an in-person event, with Minecraft Live continuing along side it. 2020 was supposed to be the first year but the pandemic cancelled it. also 4500 posts
I've given the snapshot a spin, and I currently have no opinion on it. That said, I think the Lava Cauldons sound like they might be useful at some point.
It seems Covid has caused Minecraft Earth to be discontinued 30th June, meaning 2 out of the 3 Minecraft spin-offs will be dead after that day (the other being Minecraft Story Mode which died with Telltale Games), and Dungeons being the only one available. All microtransactions will be removed, with ruby costs and times to do things vastly reduced (debunking the myth that microtransactions has no effect on a video game for those who choose not to pay for them). Save data wil alsol be deleted on cancellation, meaning there are no plans to bring the game back at a later date.
It's for the better since it was meant to be played outdoors, and with the current situation with covid, people shouldn't be out and about unless it's completely necessary.
Snapshot 21w06a came out yesterday and has brought in the new cave generation as well as officially increasing the height limit to 384 blocks, adding 64 to the sky and 64 to the underground, meaning that worlds will now span from -64 to 320 on the Y axis.
So it seems that a combination of technical problems, the dev team’s health and the pandemic has resulted in the Caves and Cliffs update being split into 2, with the height limit increase and world generation changes being delayed to Winter. https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article ... nouncement
Yeah from what it seems the pandemic kind of sullied their progress a bit and the update would have been painfully rushed and not well put together if they had tried to aim for the original set date of Summer 2021. I'm okay with that, since we'll be getting part 2 within a reasonable amount of time.
The Mario Mashup Pack was basically a texture pack, a couple of skins, and a world. Oh, and SM64 music. I think that the world is fun the first time, but it gets old after you've done it once. There's hardly anything to do other than hoard music discs, and some of the texture choices were questionable (e.g the Illagers are Fire Bros. with tuxedos, the tall Broodal and Kamek with shades just to name a few). It also hasn't been updated to take advantage of the larger worlds provided by the Bedrock edition that the Legacy Console edition didn't have. Maybe they'll do something like what we got with Ben 10 and How to Train your Dragon and do us a new Mario world with new mechanics and Mario elements such as functional power-ups and
On the topic of 1.17, I think that it is a bit underwhelming. I know the reason as to why it is so small, yet it still doesn't feel right. Good thing we have YUNG's Better Caves and the new terrain generation data pack to tide us over until then. Also Optifine crashes on Linux for whatever reason so I'm staying on 1.16.5 until Optifine 1.17 has shaders and all my mods have been updated.
Also, Sonic Central teased something to do with Minecraft. It's probably a skin pack, but still.

I was referring to the new features. Also, has the Glowstone been changed, due to the Purple crystal texture resembling amythyst.
I have pretty low expectations of this. 1.18 isn't even out yet, Dungeons is pretty much a complete game by now, Earth is dead, and honestly I don't think anyone watches that stream for the education edition. I don't actually think they will have much to reveal.
The mob vote will probably feature more things from Earth and Dungeons. None of last year's mobs really got me that much, and besides they were doing it on Twitter so I couldn't even participate because I don't use social media.
For what I think will be announced, I'm expecting a minor update reveal, stuff for the Education Edition, console ray tracing, a new novel, another Bedrock edition crossover, and merch.
That said, I'd like to see a spinoff announced. Maybe something unexpected, like an RTS? Also, when will we get news about that Minecraft movie?

The main announcement will be the 1.19 update, which would probably be a Summer 2022 release, though I doubt it will top Caves and Cliffs, since that is going to very difficult to do.
