the pipes need waaaay more contrast toward the brightest part of it. I can barely tell the difference between the 3rd and 2nd brightest shade
I knew someone was gonna say that about my pipes! I figured I can use the same shades pattern as the mushroom stems....
Edit: I tried taking your advice on adding more contrast to the 3rd & 2nd brightest shade on my pipes using only Sega Mega Drive colors from the color palette on Paint.net, unfortunately, I couldn't without making the GFXs look worse than b4. Sorry

Certainly has that ghost house / castle vibe to it. Looking neat!

Looks like it would work really well as an outdoor castle area. I guess it's because of the yellow lighting.

I know we have different opinions on the whole directional lighting thing, and I have decided to stay mostly quiet on it since I know it's a matter of preference... but in this tileset's case I can't help but notice you made the slopes symmetrical in lighting to improve how it looks. As a result the top slopes look much crisper than the bottom slopes, where the top section blends in with the fill, and neither set of slopes entirely lines up with the shading on the main tileset.
So I did just a quick modification on the transition section between edge and fill, to see how it would improve the distinction on the bottom and right tiles, as well as the bottom slopes, and I think that even if you decide not to go for a 3-block-wide edge on them, I think any width greater than 0 would look better than what's currently there. A few examples:

I personally like the third of these the most, but I think the first one I've showcased may have the most accurate lighting respective to the rest of the tileset (ignoring the symmetrical slopes thing).

The first one I like the most, and I'll make some more tweaks accordingly. Thanks for pointing that out! As far as the other two are concerned, the 2 and 3 pixel gaps kind of make for a super harsh transition, so that's why I personally wouldn't go for those, but yeah I agree with you that the blocks and slopes at the bottom could have popped out more.

Coolio! Just to clarify: The reason I like the 3rd one most (outside of symmetry) is that I like how the thick border adds more texture to the whole thing and emphasizes the indent of the fill. Personal preference once again. Ultimately the line thickness is very high-level polish so any choice will end up looking nice. Thanks for making the adjustments.

In all seriousness though: Prox, this tileset is really good, as always! I recommend the first version that Enjl showed (imo, the thicker lines make it look like the fill is kinda floating? I guess that's just me.)

Your shitpost looks kinda sick, not gonna lie. Has a nifty effect that could be amplified by a mist shader occupying the dark spots for some ominous motion.

Nah, I think I'll just stick with this! I added a couple more things and tweaked the colors of the vines too:

That's pretty good. Looks like a Toad House or Peach's Castle.

I like what I see. Kind of interesting for a castle tileset.

Almost done with my custom Autumn Forest theme Sega Mega Drive tileset, just gotta add the small tree branches to the sheet, and shit!
Should I go work on a custom "Autumn Forest" theme custom level BG once I finished?

Looks really nice. I like your use of color too. That being said, your color choice makes it look like chocolate.
this is such a late reply but - thank you! now that i think about it - man that does look like chocolate. mmm.
