We all know about the cheat codes, right? Valtteri made a post about them, Luigifan made a YouTube video with all of them, they are well known. But which one is the best? This can mean anything, the most useful, the most fun, the most weird, whatever.
My personal favorite is “wariotime” just because I think it’s really fun to make all the enemies coins.

Moneytree, because it pretty much gives you infinite lives.

Agree, mostly because you can't test maps in the editor.

Liveforever if you in 2.0
I kinda like the essential cheat codes for beating difficult levels.
Gotta try using more "Captainn", "Murder" instead of Wariotime and "Getdown' in case I am stuck using "Shadowstar".

It's a clone of the theessentials cheat code, which activates donthurtme, shadowstar, jumpman (ahippinandahoppin) and sonicstooslow all at once.

Sometimes I use powerup cheats (like needaniceflower, needahammersuit), as well as wariotime, ahippinandahoppin, itsrainingmen, donthurtme and shadowstar; also illparkwhereiwant and imtiredofallthiswalking for testing worldmaps

I like using supermario128 because it's fun seeing an army of Marios conquer a level easily

The best cheat code is NONE! Because cheating is for chumps! Real SMBX players beat every level they play fair & square.

Nah, if a level is unfair and garbage why should i try to play fair and square considering it's just a Singleplayer Game.

or how about getting softlocked and losing progress if you decide to restart.
I agree to use cheats only in exceptional cases.

I've tested my episode like 6 times this week and if my goal is to test a specific interaction halfway through the game im not spending 2 hours getting there.
So I'm adding a second useful cheat to my arsenal: mylifegoals (spawns a smw goal tape)

Cheat Codes can be quite useful in a lot of cases:
-Testing your own levels and episodes
If you want to test something in your episode or level, they can save you a lot of time.
-Avoiding softlocks
Sometimes it is possible to get stuck in a level. Cheat Codes can help you to escape these softlocks.
-Skipping tedious sequences
Cheat Codes prove useful in tedious sequences as well. Levels with incredibly slow autoscrolling are a good example. but things like defeating a Super Mario Bros. 3 Bowser using Fire Balls is probably the most well-known one (in case you didn't know, he takes 200 fireballs).
-Simple fun and challenges
Sometimes, levels can be hilarious to play with cheat codes. Especially supermario128 can be pretty fun to use. You can also use them for challenges. sonicstooslow and speeddemon are a great combination for this as it is pretty hard to control the characters at high speed.

Well obviously. I use cheat codes to test my episodes and levels, and sometimes when I finish an episode I duplicate a save file and mess around with cheat codes in 2 player with my brother.

If getting to a certain point over & over in your level is that tedious & difficult, then wouldn't other players feel the same way? Maybe if its that difficult, you should tone down the difficulty? Also, if the level causes softlocking or is 'garbage', why not just stop playing the level & get a hold of the lever designer & give them feedback on how flawed their level is. Not only all that, but having to replay your level over & over again is how you keep your skills sharp.
I make difficult levels myself & I never use cheat codes. I play my levels just as any other fair player would. If my level is so difficult that even I can't beat it reliably, despite playing it the way its designed, then its high time I toned it down.
