Well look at that, I finished my tree GFX in my upcoming SEGA Mega Drive GFX pack, and added another SMB3 sizeable as well!
I think I'm running out of room for more custom graphics right about now.

That's pretty good but I think the difference of detail between the solid and background wall is a bit too important. I mean, the solid one is detailled a lot with the shading while the background one is very simple. Maybe adding one more color to the background wall palette?
eh I find that it would look less distinguishable that way. I think the better option is to desaturate it and darken it by using cooler colors if it's supposed to be a cave wall bgo

More detail isn't always better, specially when working with a limited palette. If it's far away it shouldn't be too noticeable. When it had more shading, it clashed with the solid rock tiles, even with a dark outline.
I could make the background darker though.

Just finished with the Koopa Troopa NPC sprites (And the paragoomba sprites) for my SEGA Mega Drive GFX pack, and I had to edit the eyes because they were about 5 by 2 pixels long.
Now what enemy npc should I make for this GFX pack next?

The dithering and pillowshading on the body take away from the shape of the object. The pattern on the top piece looked kinda nice before. Try pasting the sprite into a screenshot of a smb3 castle to see how it looks next to other objects, and make changes based on your observation. Looking at how larger sprites like the Toad House are shaded might also help.
