Nova Level Contest 2 (Preview / Planning Phase / WIP)

There's bug in Beta 4 when if NPC with Layer2 attached to NPC from Layer1, which attached to another one NPC, then attached NPC with Layer2 will not move. Also some NPCs like bill blasters, tank fragments and even SML2 goombas don't attach layers anymore.

This could be used as a rule, if anything. I wonder if this problem will be taken into consideration for CCX1.

So you have to rely on scripting only? That's quite out of the question, I don't want to alienate people who aren't comfortable with scripting.

I am happy to see you guys excited for this contest, hopefully Cedur can decide what gimmick the contest should have since we are not getting that far with voting. I personally would have no issues if we go with gimmick 1b, 2 or 3.

I guess, also litchh stated a no events vanilla gimmick so maybe you can add it to the list?

Looking at the votes so far, it seems people either want a no power-ups contest or final level contest which for me, seems an ideal choice either way. I don't think I have seen a contest with such a gimmick before so that certainly will make it interesting.

I guess we will be having a no power-ups contest, Celeste style.
For the judging's criteria, since you guys are out of ideas, here are my suggestions:
Gameplay/Level Design = 40 Points (How well the level was designed which includes how fun it was to play, how well the gimmick was executed and how much variety there was in the level)
Aesthetics = 30 Points (How well the level was decorated and how much the graphics fit in (Maybe you can also include the quality of the graphics/aesthetics))
Creativity = 20 Points (How creative the level was with it's execution of gimmick, challenges and etc.)
Theme = 10 Points (How well did the level follow it's presented theme, it will be a bit difficult to judge this in a no-power ups contest but as I said, its just a suggestion)
This should equal to 100 Points in total.
Also since judging is supposed to be anonymous, we can create a channel in the novaverse server for the contest and just not give access to the judges? (It will be kinda tricky with Cedur considering he is the owner so maybe he can mute the channel as well?)
Also for HUB/World Map maker, I would suggest asking 8luestorm or Mechadragon777 for help.
And for the extra judge, what are you going to do about that?

No, I'd suggest we just do it the same as in CCX1, where ShadowStar officially hosts and is also a judge, so I'd also have someone else (well, you?) to collect and distribute the levels.

Also since "following the criteria" is indeed trivial for the no powerup theme, I'd suggest to put these points to "Gameplay" and go with 50-30-20.

I was thinking of allowing people to discuss their levels and such but I guess there is no issue in going your way. I could collect and distribute them but I would like to enter the contest as well.
