The Tanooki Who Couldn't Fly

Been a while since I've posted on this forum, let alone an SMBX project. This project aims to be a simple, traditional Mario platformer with only a few slight twists to the formula, and nothing too fancy or beyond the limitations of SMBX 1.3.0.1.

Story:
One fateful day on lonely little Tanooki Island, a little Tanooki* wakes up to find that its tail had been stolen! Who could be responsible? Tanooki will have to brave the elements and venture off the island to find out, making friends and allies along the way.

*Currently, I don't have a player graphic for Tanooki, so for right now, pretend that Mario is Tanooki. My plan is for Tanooki to resemble what it'd look like if SMB3 Tanooki Suit Mario was an actual Tanooki instead (plus missing its tail). I will attempt to make the necessary graphics myself if no one offers first.

Since the episode seems to be made for 1.3, it wouldn't be possible to remove certain functionalities of powerups (LunaLua would be required).

I can't show how they look like because I literally don't have the sprites yet.

Nobody claimed the tanooki powerup state was going to be used. The original post explains the idea of the player resembling a tail-less version of the mythical creature by default.

At the episode "Mario Classic" there are custom npcs goombas ,koopas and hammer bros with raccoon tales and ears, they are in the forest world of that episode, they can fit to your Tanooki island.
