Anybody Have DKC Sound Effect MP3s

Postby mariogeek2 » Wed Jun 11, 2014 8:06 pm

Can anybody get me the sound effects from the first Donkey Kong Country on SNES in mp3 file form? It'd be greatly appreciated.

I don't have them, but I can tell you how to get them:

1) Download SNES9X (if you have Windows; I don't know about Macs) and a ROM of DKC.
2) Start a new game, and experiment with which sound effects are mapped to which channel (to toggle sound channels on/off, go to Sound > Channels)
3) Use SNES9X's sound recording feature (File > Start AVI recording) and perform whatever action that causes the desired sound effect (with all other channels turned off), then stop the recording.
4) Use some sort of audio cropping program (I use http://mp3cut.net/ ) to single out the sound effect from the AVI file (this website will also convert it to MP3) and re-name it to whatever sound effect corresponds to it in SMBX.
5) Repeat this process for each sound effect you want, and you will eventually have your own DKC sound pack!

Okay, thanks. I'd prefer not go through all that trouble, but I guess I'll have to do it. I greatly appreciate it. If anybody else just happens to have them, it'd be appreciated if they gave them to me.

This is what I found. May be what you want, may not, but it seems to be all you want and more.

If there is a site, they are legal.
