Thanks. I may use them for a level yes, I have a particular track stuck on my mind that I feel I must use however possible.

Whaa..? I don't know where you got that from. Both the palette and the design were made from scratch. In fact, I don't even think it would look good with the YI style at all. =P

Decided to add some windows to this custom SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis background. And yes, I used the same window design from Marble Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 1 as reference:
Might add more to the background soon.

Those are some odd-looking windows. The iron bars are fine, what I'm not fine with is what's around them. As far as I can tell this is supposed to be some kind of dungeon background with beveled square bumps, which it's a design I can get around as it's simple and does a good job most of the time. What confuses me is that the windows are beveled too. It's a design choice that doesn't make sense in my head.

I know this BGO is still a WIP at the moment, but thanks for the criticism Natsu! Also, like I said b4, I borrow the iron bar window graphic from Sonic 1. So yeah, I'm planning on more with this background later.

This really looks increditable. It reminds me a bit of M&LPiT's Sewer System

So I tried again with the 3 window graphics for my SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis Green castle background:
Might add some more graphics to this background soon!

I really like the look of this!
Though... what's up with that seemingly random patch of bright light in the top left 3x3?
Also especially like the sewer hole, it has some really neat detail!

Thank you. I kinda see the resemblance, but not by much.

Thank you. I like how it turned out too. I'm thinking of adding a variant with running water.

Could you be referring to the beveled indentation in the middle of the tileset? It's supposed to represent a pillar-like leg for the structure. If you're talking about the top left corner piece of the tileset, the bright light on the top represents the smooth edge of the platform. The light reflects differently on that surface than a sharp edge.

This is what I meant. I didn't initially see it as an indentation, but it looks pretty good!

So, I wasn't satisfied with the sand tileset I had before, so here's another one.

How do you manage to keep consistency throughout all your graphics? They're all pretty realistic, sorta like SMB3 but more detailed.

Well for one, it's my use of color, and two, I look at a lot of examples on the internet.
Added in 6 hours 7 minutes 34 seconds:
now I have the sand part done. I'm about halfway done with the whole tileset now.

Making custom NPCs since there is a lack of it and might there is demand for it IMO.
Need to make the fire breathing version of it but damn it's tough.

These custom 8-bit Gameboy Color sprites of Mario may be available for SMBX in the future, or not.... But here's my progress so far:
And please note, I'm excluding the sprites of Mario riding Yoshi due to being faithful to GBC limitations.
