EDIT: I forgot to mention, this is optimized to work with at least the MaGLX3 build, specifically the PAL build. It will not work with Beta 3.
EDIT (8/24/19): Minor update to the costume.lua to account for walking on the ground while underwater.
EDIT (5/29/20): Few updates:
-Throwing fireballs/iceballs/boomerangs while underwater now animates
-Alignment has been fixed on a number of frames, particularly in state 4.
-Small Toadette also now has a third walking frame, extrapolated from the extra frame added for Mario in Super Mario Advance 2.

Hey man, I get an error message when I try to use this costume, it says that it didn't found the file "playeranim". I managed to make it work, in a sense, as I had to delete some lines of code in the "costume.lua" file, which I assume are the ones that manage the swimming frames. By the way, I am playing in SMBX 2.0.
Is there something I am missing, or something that I need to download so the costume can work properly? Thanks.

Can you please share the actual error message? Those dialog boxes have more information than a vague description, and from what you wrote I cannot pin down what could possibly be going wrong on your end. You didn't even specify the version number. Beta 3 or one of the MAGLX3 builds?

I really liked these sprites when I saw them in SMM2. This is a pretty good costume, specially because it adds unique swimming frames for Toad. I shall keep this costume untill the end of SMBX2.
Even tough the sprite's position acts wonky when the player crouches underwater. But overall very good.
This is really well made! I love all the effort put into each costume, and not only that, you put in the time to make her "hair" move as she moves around! Well done with this.
I know this might be a silly question, but the swimming animations don't show, for example it just shows the running animations. (I am using the costume.lua, and using smbx2 pal build) Also the effect is cut off, but I really like the sprite so good job! (does anybody know how to fix this )

I guess it has to do with how toad sprites work in general. Toad's swimming sprites are basically him running. A much better character replacement choice would have been Toadette over Mario IMO.

I just figured out how to do it, put the pack in the costumes and then switch to toad and hit the block that looks like a spade.
It needs to be used as a costume, yes. If you just use this to replace Toad's graphics directly, either in an episode or level folder, then costume.lua won't run and that's where all the code is to manage the swimming animations.
