I love this release, but why haven't Super Koopas been added yet? I know they will be in the final release but I just want to mess around with them (and I would love if the flashing ones were able to drop any item)

Do GolBlerts work properly? The concept of making a level with changing elements based on the Game Of Life is something I never knew I wanted. X3
Unfortunately not yet. Finishing them is on my personal to-do list for Beta 4 though.

All the more reason for me to look forward to beta 4. Also, is there a place where I can ask questions about LunaLua?

Go to LunaLua help subforum, you can either post a thread, or just go to "Need help with Lua?" thread.

Is there some way for me to sync the animation speed of an npc with the universal animation speed of blocks? No matter what I try, the npc animation is always either too fast, or too slow. :/
Also how do I figure out the frame delay from the frame speed?

You download the episode, extract the folder with 7-zip, and put the episode folder into the "worlds" folder.

Anyways, I've been trying to convince a person that MAGLX3 is falsely flagged as a virus and essentially they absolutely refuse to switch to a better version of the game due to these issues linked down below, which includes the file causing the pop-up message. I've tried reasoning with them numerous times about the fact many people use it, the fact it leads to more possibilities etc. Essentially, I want this person to utilize the best tools possible for their episode, and they keep flat-out refusing even after being told by administrators and SMBX 2 developers. Is there any chance in the future that the offending program will be fixed to no longer cause issues or is it a lost cause?

The file that triggers the warning is pge_musplay.exe

One specific bug.
I think if an NPC is thrown at bomb block, and has the top off its image above the top of the bomb block, it won't trigger.
This notably happens when throwing enemies at it with Klonoa.

Suggestion: Disabled(inverted) character filter block. Filter blocks to force a player to switch to another character works, but when your playing 2-player the second player can still exit the level as a character that you have disabled for an episode. I had to write a lua code to get around this. Having a disabled filter block that only blocks the player when they're a specific character would be more convenient.

It's a false positive, I had the same report from another user (are you using Webroot?)
Anyway, try to update PGE toolchain by running of "data/PGE/update-pge.cmd" script. The new updated build is no more triggered by WebRoot.

P.S. Also please download this http://wohlsoft.ru/docs/_laboratory/_Bu ... er-exec.7z and extract the "LunaLoader-exec.exe" into "data" folder.

The "pge_musplay" is a small music player to play looping OGGs, chiptunes, tracker music, and MIDI to verify their sounding and behavior without starting the game or Editor as it does use of same MixerX Audio backed as PGE, LunaLua, and SMBX-38a.

I don't know if this has been noted yet but there is a bug with the SMB3 wood platform (NPC-476) when setting its active state. If I try setting it to either Yes or No it works, but when I reload the level it resets to Default, so I can't have my platforms move on their own.

Sounds like you're using a .lvl file. Use .lvlx like the handbook says.

I think this is a bug: The switch palaces aren't permanent. After entering a level and exiting, the switch palace level on the world map is back to being unpressed and playable. After save-quitting then reloading the game, the switch blocks that were toggled by the switch NPC are back to being non-toggled.

That has been fixed internally, but was an oversight in the MAGLX3 build unfortunately.

I have a problem where SMBX2 wont open at all after installing MAGLX2. I blame it on Windows (that stupid pile of crap that makes me spend 99% of my time troubleshooting stupid problems that wouldn't exist in any other OS) but any solutions are welcomed.

EDIT: The LunaLoader and smbx.exe files work fine, the launcher is just being stupid.

I have a simple question. How do I play a sound effect located in the episode folder using lua?

Edit: Never mind. I figured out how to use "../[filename]"

Added in 1 hour 34 minutes 53 seconds:
I'm trying to replicate the effects of the white block platform from SMB3 using lunalua. Is there a way to put the player in the background, or make BGOs layer in front of the player. Without making a foreground version of every BGO?

Use Misc.resolveFile instead... established standard and such.

player:render redraws the player. Take a look at classexpander.lua to see how it works. On top of redrawing the player, of course, you need to set the player's animation frame (offset 0x114) to -50 * player.direction so that he becomes invisible as far as the game's render loop is concerned.

Note that you'll need to set the player's animation frame after redrawing them. And normally, you can use player:setFrame(-50, true) to do it, rather than messing with memory offsets, but this will probably cause a one frame lag in this case.
