Endless Maze [1.4.4]

Postby Maney » Fri May 31, 2019 6:07 pm

After 3 years of development and telling absolutely nobody, it's finally here!

Image

What started out as a celebration led by the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom soon turns into a disaster when a mysterious evil entity wreaks havoc upon everyone and traps Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad within a maze with no end in sight! Mario, now completely alone, must now consult the Man in blue overalls at the north end of the maze to even have a chance of escape!

~Endless Maze is a lovely dish that contains:
-4 playable characters! Mario,(the only one available at the start,) Luigi, Toad, and Peach.
-48 main levels to play with many of them having multiple exits!
-7 Special Zone levels that are fun.
-A World Map with many branching pathways!
-A soundtrack of over 100 custom musics!
-A grand total of 70 stars to collect!
-Satire of common fan game tropes!
-References up the wazoo!
-Absolutely disgusting lore!
-A credits level that gives credit!

The secret exit in jellyfish jam can be found by getting the mini mushroom through the area with the flashy lights, then going down when you get to this area with the pipe and the donut blocks. Hug the floor and enter the pipe to obtain a star.

I hope that helped!

I played the first 8 levels and I didn't find any sense of what you have put in your levels ... Some levels seems unrealistic of what I expect to see for a beginning of SMBX episode, there are not many custom graphics and there are too many enemies or tricky paths just after the start game as well. :| Moreover, I don't really like the way you remake some existing levels from other games.
However, I kinda enjoy ideas that you have chosen to put in your levels especially the introduction cutscene and the fact that each level (or almost) has its own mechanism so I guess it's a good point. :)
But I think I'm not going to play your game anymore even if I'm sure you will find players that appreciate a lot your work you put into this episode. ;)

I assume you are referring to the secret exit in F U N H O U S E. At the end of the second section of the level, there is an area with a super leaf and a dry bones. Grab the super leaf and fly above the ceiling. Hold right and up until you find a door. Go through it and you'll find the secret exit.

The point of watch your six is to enter a password which is needed to enter a door. A hidden character in the game tells you the code, but not directly.

The level isn't supposed to lead to a new path. The level exists just for Ennard to tell you the lore.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

The episode looks pretty good. Judging from the screenshots it seems there is quite good enemy and coin placements.

Sorry to keep you waiting. Wish Lab is a level that also doesn't really have a purpose. It's just another level that gives you lore.

i actually have bad news. i typed redigitiscool one time and typed the password wrong and then i lost my save. it,s really sad and i don,t want to do all these stages again. i could use cheats which speeds things up but then the password will blocks me again. i,m happy beta 3 doesn,t have this. edit: i think i will try this again and try to find a way to break the password. edit2: i just need to know the password code it seems to be the only way.

Nobody knows the password, it's obviously supposed to ban usage of cheats altogether

if you need to cheat then you can only edit things in the editor (like extra power-ups, warps etc)

also why don't you use a single capital letter and why you use commas instead of apostrophes

Ouch, man. I remember my first time discovering that anti cheat thing. It must be a thousand times worse when it actually happens to you when you're trying to beat a game, and then your saves get deleted because "No Pacman! Cheats are baaad!"

I assume you're trying to play this on the wrong version of SMBX. You need SMBX 1.4.4 for this to run.
