Can't get input from second 360 controller?

I'm trying to check this game out, and wanted to play it with a friend. I've got a 360 wireless receiver, and it can have two players on it at once. But for some reason I can't get the 2nd controller to work. I've restarted and tried changing it up the player 2 controls many times, but I only get keyboard and joystick 1.

Anyone got any tips?

You have to use a program such as Joy2Key (or something similar) to map the 360 Controller buttons to buttons on a keyboard. I'm not sure how this works as I haven't done anything of the sort yet (I have yet to buy a controller to try it out), but I'm pretty sure you just map the controller buttons to the keys on a keyboard, then input them as usual.

I did do that for the second controller and it works okay, I'm still a little confused that my 1st player controller works fine though. Why doesn't the game see the second joystick?
