NSMB Grassland tileset

Postby Whocks » Sat May 04, 2019 11:05 am

This is my first graphics, what do you think? If you use this credit is nice but not necessary.

UPDATE: The background tiles now have outlines to fit the smb3 style more, and a new background2 is added. Here is the old and new screenshots for comparison;

Download: These are all hand-drawn. Apart from the background, I traced over that.

This is looking great so far! I like how you recreated them in SMB3 style

I agree with the VanillaDude but shouldn't the bgos have black outlines to fit further more in the SMB3 style?

What's wrong? Isn't your username VanillaDude? I used "the" because it sounded more natural to me i guess.

Yeah, I did try that but with the flowers and mushrooms they look incredibly ugly.

Oof, then i guess its better if you let them stay the way they are.

Just put outlines on the bgos since they dont mix well with most backgrounds, and also i just added one.

I do feel this style works very well in SMBX. Well done on this. My only criticism is that there might be a bit too of a noticeable outline on the bushes, even with Eri7 mentioning that, but that could just be me. I think it's because it's a different shade to the black outline of the enemies.

Well I added the outlines on the bgos because without them they would blend into the background, also the bgos and enemies outlines are different colors normally, that’s just what the smb3 style does.

Oh, I actually didn't know that enemy and bgo outlines were different, huh. In that case, well done with the outlines!

a black outline might not have been the best idea for the bgos. Maybe a dark colored outline would help out more. I used to make that mistake, and it just didn't look good. Anyway, your download doesn't work because you're trying to put a folder up on mediafire. Zip it and then re-upload it.

There, it's zipped, now everyone should be able to download it.
