This thread might be 3 months old but I'm still compelled to say that I'm using SMBX 2.0 Beta 3. I have never used 38A nor do I plan on using it anytime soon.

Would you then use it if a good episode comes out in 38A?

Tbh the only reason i use 2.0 is the fact that i used it since the beginning. I always download the "latest" version of programs, so i saw 2.0 as being the one with the most features etc. Obviously, i soon learned about 38a and the fact that 2.0 isn't an update from 1.4.4; i stuck with it anyway as it was just so easy to use, and i didn't want to learn another program / engine.

i don't really use it, but for your information there's still the 1.0 version on MFGG. Also, somewhere on PGE's site there should be download links to all the versions

Odds are I would try to replicate what that episode has on my own episode.

Why would you do this?!
If a person has been working really hard on his episode to bring something fun and unique to play to the community and you just replicate it instead of you know... PLAYING it, this would make the person making the episode very sad as he just wanted to finally bring a game that is fun, interesting and has a unique gameplay concept never seen before in the community and then someone just replicates it...
I am honestly disappointed that you would do this, i expected far better from you.

I've been very anti-38A until I finally tried it to play TGE9 (only was interested in its quantity and scope) and to have it for the upcoming SMN and NeoSMWX stuff. Despite the nuisances with 38A, the physics and unfair damages, the broken pause menu, the inability to use fullscreen etc, I have not regretted it. Take the plunge or just decide to abstain from 38A content ...

Dude, calm down. It's not a big deal, and besides, most things that we do on SMBX have been done in some shape or form on other games to begin with, so your comment comes out as hypocritical. You also seem to have taken my comment to the extreme, I'm not going to replicate something very specific like if the Orakel boss fight was done on 38A, I wouldn't replicate it on my own episode but make a non-related very Lua-heavy boss fight myself.

For me, those are some big downsides I've never known about and only accentuate my uninterest towards it. To be honest I'm content with using SMBX2.0 as of now.

I'm currently started using the new version of the SMBX2.0. But haven't started playing it though

I recently got MaGLX3. I probably won't use it as my main version until Beta 4 comes out though.
