Mario Movement Prevention SMBX 1.4.4

So I like to use 1.4.4, because I've used it for quite some time now. It's just something I'm used to. But recently, instead of just making normal SMBX levels, I've decided to do things a little more complicated, and advanced. Currently I am working on a boss battle, but for the opening scene, I need Mario to not be able to move. Is there a way I could do this? If so, how? I've been having a lot of trouble with it.

You could make a unique, tight layer of invisible blocks surrounding Mario's starting point, along with events that trigger the appearance and disappearance of that layer. That would temporarily keep him from moving from one spot, however he could still turn left and right.

So this is how you prevent the player from moving, if you want him to move again, just trigger an event which only has "Enable Player Controls" on.
