Does anybody here have a program that can rapidly convert the GIF pairs in most graphics packs into PNG files 38A can actually use? The included MarioTool is slow.
PGE editor has built-in GIFtoPNG image converter.

This version is super cool! I love all the new customization options, UI, and all that good stuff.
However, if I have to be cheese with you, hammy, I h a t e the Tanooki gliding physics and the ice is kind of annoying as it is really slow and stiff sometimes. This could be because I was used to SMBX 1.3's physics, but I thought I could throw that out there.
Overall, pretty neat update!
perhaps tweak the Tanooki and ice physics possibly maybe in a new patch/update??

The physics are rock-bottom in general, and there's other severe bugs, e.g. the pause menu is not even working for me.
SMBX2 may also not be completely bug-free yet but it has nothing as severe and upsetting as I experienced with 38A after just two days of having it.
I tried the game and I basically got confirmed what's been said.
At some point SMBX2 will also feature 38A's exclusive additions.

Hey, I am having a problem with the 1.4.4 Smbx version. It states that, whenever I go into my demo episode, that my "save is locked by map author" is there a true fix to this?

When I read the Important Notes by Wohlstand, I was a bit surprised that there's no mentioning of the incompatibility and the converting of files. This should be added given how many people are falling for it.

It seems as if you were using cheats. You have to create a new one.

It won't let you save your progress if you are cheating. That kinda sucks.

even worse, if you used a cheat, your save is destroyed altogether?
if something proves too hard and too stupid to beat, you can alter the level inside the editor.
also what sucks is that the game saves only when you beat a new level, not when you went back to an already completed level to get a missing star / star coin etc

I think, yeah, I must to add them... That file was too outdated and I need refresh it...
EDIT: Made!
Anyway, the was a comment even in old variant:
- New File formats are NOT compatible with classic SMBX!
Then, I have changed it with:
- New File formats are NOT compatible with classic SMBX! PGE Editor, PGE Engine,
and PGE Maintainer are able to open SMBX-38A's files
And I have added next block:
********************************************************************************
==IMPORTANT NOTE:== SMBX-38A does automatical converting of SMBX64 levels and
world map files into own new SMBX-38A format. Once you opened old level or world
files by SMBX-38A, they are will be auto-converted into own format and you'll
be not able open them in legacy SMBX Engine which will crash. The only way to
revert this is using of PGE Editor or PGE Maintainer to re-save your level or
world file into SMBX64 format back to be able open them in legacy SMBX engine
again.
********************************************************************************

I am posting these here because the creator of the scripts, Twisted Doctah deserves more recognition towards his hard work which helps a lot the 38A side of the community!

BETTER THAN 2.0 AND 1.3! score: 10/10
really like 1.4.4's scripting feature. MUCH better than 2.0's.

If you really enjoy 1.4.4 that much, just stick with it.
