graphic making?

Postby crusher169 » Thu Jun 05, 2014 6:15 am

ive been making graphics a lot (well... mainly recoloring) but the problem is whenever I save the .gif file it shows it in poor quality and just doesn't look good because .gif files are poor quality for me. is there some kinda application that I haven't found that lets me make custom graphics? because I don't know how to make it work :\

Surely yes. Use Paint.NET instead.

This is true. I'm already have the same problem. The solution is simple: Use Paint.Net or other program to save in .gif (yes, the people above me already say this)

HOWEVER! Paint.net can be a little hard to make the sprites. So if you are more familiar with Microsoft Paint, you can save in Microsoft Paint in PGN, for example, and after this use Paint.net only to save in Gif format.

This isn't true. Every program takes some getting used to. I, for example don't know what to do with Microsoft Paint. I have no clue how I can be any productive using it, be it spriting or drawing in general. Paint.NET on the other hand is easy for me to use, I'm using it since years though.

Also, crusher169, don't get the Version 4 beta. The Version 3 Full Version is so much better.

Here is where you can get Paint.NET: http://www.getpaint.net/

I use it too and for me it is easy to use and very handy.

I use a Microsoft.paint equivalent for Mac OS X (forgot the name) and it saves the gifs in a blurry way but it only looks that way in the icon, when I actually open the sprite up in the paint tool again, it looks fine. Sometimes looks are deceiving.

no with paint. its not just how it looked on the icon. It was like that in the game and the Microsoft paint.
