I've decided to wait til I can fully update it to it's fullest capabilities. That way, I can ensure that this is a fantastic episode when I do complete it.

So I have a question. How far are you in with Super Mario DX? What do you think of it so far. (I can take criticism, just please don't take it too far) I want to know what I did good and what I did bad so I know what to do for my second game and how I can fix.

Before trying it out I can already tell that edged paths are a nono. Can you provide more information? (overall scope, styles used, etc)

Well, I didn't have any good way to screenshot these pictures, I'll try to find a better way when I build my second or remaster my first game. Sorry bout that. this is the first game I have built and posted.

Bowser attacks the Mushroom Kingdom and steals a valuable power source, at which he uses it to take over 8 worlds. The hero's (you can play as any of the 5 characters) objective is to take down the koopalings castles and defeat Bowser once more.
There are four endings to this game. Can you find them all.
Bosses that you will have to fight:
The 7 koopalings Larry, Morton, Wendy, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, and Ludwig
Birdo
Mouser
Wart
Giant Goomba
Project 23
Freezinator
Boom Boom
and many more.
Got to see it for yourself this time.
Sprites used:
SMBX sprites
I actually recolored and made other sprites.
Koopalings were made with the Airship Attack sprites

Okay guys. I am running my game and I saw that there is a problem in a few of my levels, sorry about the inconvenience. I will fix the problems that there are and reupload the link so that the issues won't go too far. Guess you can say it is an update. I am sorry. I am new to this.

Well guys, I was able to fix alot of stuff on my game. I noticed a few game breakers in there, so I went and fixed them. Let me know what you think.

I just came to download this and holy shit it's 2.8 GB large! Some unnecessarily long music I suppose?
EDIT: Yup, I just downloaded this (took a whole 15-20 minutes) and it's indeed due to 30min mp3 files.

Okay, I'll see what I can do. I know when I get SMBX2, I'm gonna remaster Super Mario DX and I can shorten it and possibly reloop most of the music as well. It's been years since I have made this.

Thanks for showing up, I don't think it's necessary to have SMBX2 for that, just research all custom music again and look for normal-length music videos.

ok this is something I can already state after a few levels:
The graphics are terribly bland and minimalistic. There is basically nowhere an effort to make the levels look interesting to any extent. Only one row of blocks, little to no decorations, way too much empty space. This hurts gameplay a lot. So yeah whenever you get to make another episode please put much effort into graphics. In 1-fortress there is an immense clash between SMW and SMB1 castle tiles, and in 1-4 there are vines growing out of nowhere.
Level 1-A is unfair to the player. When I talked to the toad, I kept thinking the warp should spawn at the end of the level after killing the hammer bro's, and that I eventually missed a secret, but no, the pipe is somewhere in the middle and you have to backtrack. The following cave room has spikes that are not connected to ANY ceiling, and why is the exit warp not placed on the pipe? Regarding the instant warp room, it's also not obvious there how to get back.

Cedur, I think you still have to play through the entire episode. I think world 1 is the best already. Later on, some levels have stars that you don't know existed, some Sans-like boss fight that is brutal for no checkpoint because the level warps to another level. And the path is just as confusing, you would come across a place that requires stars when you don't have enough, but after you have enough stars, you will forget which path requires that star. And please use the editor to look at the map, 200+ stars are not easy.

I talked with the author on chat and they're well aware how badly this episode turned out back in the days. He's gonna rebuild it eventually, I'm looking forward to that, hence I stopped my playthrough.

Wow 2.8 gigs. Would have picked it up to give it a whirl but dang, that file size can scare people away. Putting 30 minute music files in your episode probably not a good idea. Cedur says you're gonna rebuild. If I could make a suggestion, use smbx 2.0 and use ogg music files since you can loop them like a proper vgm if you know what you're doing. I'd put in a link to a tutorial of how to do it but unsure if we're allowed to.
Ultimately though it's up to you how you want to do it.
