I was wondering about this for a while (I tried to ask that in the Q&A topic, and Ghosthawk told me to make a topic here.).... Will there be a time for someone in the SMBX community would make custom graphics using the color palette of Sega Genesis/Mega Drive & NEC TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine?
Just wondering, and i already know you can rip other GFX from games for these 2 consoles, and put them in SMBX.

They definitely won't be in SMBX2 for basegame but if you want to recolour some graphics with an obsolete palette in terms of what SMBX uses with the default graphics you could. I don't think it would get much attention though since they'd be lower quality than default SMBX graphics and not compatible with anything else

The only palette people care about is the SMB3 palette.

Yeah, the obsession of the damned Super Mario Bros. 3 graphics are the ultimate reason why i wanna make Genesis style & TurboGrafx-16 style custom graphics in the first place

Enjl has a sprite guide for helping in creating graphics but I still found it to be confusing. If that does interest you it is posted in the forums. If your not good with Graphics then you just have to wait until someone makes one. I took Photoshop in college years ago and did ok with it but graphics are not my thing. When I make my own episode I will just have to use whatever is available. That may be your best route.

I oughtta remake that sometime. It's formatted poorly and is a bit of a mix of external sources. You can read these sources at the bottom of the tutorial, though, which is something I recommend. They go more in-depth than I did in my topic.

It was probably just me. I am not good with that kind of stuff. Anyone with descent graphics abilities would probably do much better with your sprite guide. I did just figure out how to resize the world map tiles in paint which was pretty cool so I am learning a little bit of stuff.
Anyways if he was interested it's easy enough to do a search for the guide.

Thanks man, the Mega-Drive & PC Engine styles will be worth the wait! *
