SaturnYoshi just added a bunch of new blocks and bgo's so it seems like at the moment we are making some nice progress on smbx beta4.
That sheet Hoeloe showed is a very nice start. I can't wait to see it double, triple or even quadruple in size. Good job everyone.

Few things based on that screenshot:
1. Why is Sumo Bros. classed as a "common" enemy and not "castle" or even "boss"?
I don't remember the SumoBro's ever being in a castle in SMW and they were never really a boss ether. Was there something I missed?

I just don't see them being a true common enemy, and thought they would be better in another category like those i mentioned.

1. Sumo Bros are about as special of a threat as hammer bros. The boss sumo bro in NSMBU is a different enemy, and in SMW sumo bros were only ever found out in the open.
2. Engine blocks for attaching various objects. Like seen in the lineguide block post if you took a close look.
3. Only one of each type but you can use lua to have more colours I think.
4. It's now blue cause Starman now exists and they shouldn't look the same in-editor. As for the SMB2 star... Have you played SMB2? That's the SMB2 Starman.
5. Spews some fire. Play Mario Forever.
Asking questions isn't something to be sorry about. I recommend doing a few minutes of research for these though, because that way you'll get answers quicker than by waiting for one of us to see the questions and reply. Or you could just... ask on codehaus.

CASTLE?! How does that make sense? I can see them in common but definitely not “castle” or “boss”

Why are there so many things in the SMB3 tab that never existed in SMB3 lol
Maybe because those things might have been in Super Mario Advance 4 e-levels although even then they should be put in a section of their original game. Also it's nice seeing Super Mario Forever enemies getting added.

Well they did put in the red and blue shoes. They weren't in SMB3. Also don't think red donut blocks were in either. Also the black, cyan, pink and prurple yoshis were in SMW either. There will also be some other stuff I failed to mention.
So why are those in the tabs they are in?

It's much easier to locate them when they are in the same place as their original versions.

Well, that's cool. But, i wanted to ask a lot of things.
- Is Fliprus orange in that screenshot? I remembered it to be pink, eh.
- Is the big bullet bill in NSMB section the King Bill?
- Are the other computers on Sonic section going to do something? Ring just added the coin count, but what's the others?
- It's really weird, but i don't see Boomerang Bro there. Where is it?
- No new NPCs for SMB1 other than goombas and pink Piranha Plant?

What Dex said. Also it's a fair point to have a thing that is similar to other things but not in the original to be next to those things.

Enjl's statement about the SMB3 enemies...is misguided. All those enemies are in the game.
Red Donut Blocks? Castle/Fortress levels.
Sumo Brothers appear in World 3 and more often in worlds past 4. They jump, and upon landing, shake the ground, stunning the player if they're touching the ground. I think some of us need some refreshers. Go play Mario 3. I likely will later.

Sumo Bros were not in Mario 3; donut blocks were though.

You're thinking of Sledge Bros. Sumo Bros. are different. They stand on a semisolid block above the ground and shoot down lightning which when it hits the ground turns into a temporary wave of fire

The BoomerangBro's and every other base Mario game enemy will hopefully be in the full release of 2.0 and if not we can hope for 3.0.

If you check the Mario Wiki there are no references at all to red (or any other variant) donut blocks in SMB3. The only variants referenced are the icy donut blocks from NSMB2 and larger donut blocks in YNI.
If SMB3 has red Donut blocks in the form they take take in SMBX, then screenshot a level that does have them (because I can't play SMB3 right now and there are no images containing such blocks on the internet).

That's not Sumo Bros. if it appears in SMB3. The one that shake the ground is Sledge Bros. in World 4, in world 3 they didn't even appear at all.
Also, Sumo Bros. in common makes sense, i guess, i mean, the only level i remember they appeared in is Funky, and it's the last level ever in SMW.

We will announce a release date once we can be certain of one. Asking and guessing won't speed development up.

They're in World 4 Fortress 2 and I think they're in Bowser's Castle as well.

Yep. Also the Wiki is not always reliable.
