Which version to choose from

Hi! I want to get into smbx, but I see that there is a lot of flversions. Which one have the most compatibilitg with as many as possible episodes. I need to say : I'm only gonna be playing the games, I'm not gonna make any content.

If you are gonna be playing only the games why not every version that is needed in order to play a certain episode?

So as I understand, every episode need to be played on a differant version of smbx?

Get SMBX2 and SMBX 1.4

Smbx 2.0 can run a majority of episodes sice it supports both 2.0 and 1.3 episodes.
1.4/38A can run a minority of episodes nowadays but more episodes might be made soon.

I'd recommend. SMBX2. It's the latest most up-to-date editor and engine that all episodes can be played on made with SMBX2 and SMBX 1.3.0.1. As mentioned, the majority of episodes (and all of the high-quality episodes under "SMBX Worlds") run using this version. Sometimes episodes and levels won't refer directly to SMBX2 but as requiring LunaLua, which just means that you need SMBX2 because it uses its scripting features. 38A on the other hand is a glitchy, knock-off of SMBX witha similar GUI, however it is actually a completely different engine. There are some levels and episodes made with it however it is important to be aware that it is sometimes difficult to get help with this engine, while help is widely available when using SMBX2 and it has a lot more resources

Okay, I think you should get both smbx 1.4.4 and 2.0 beta 3/ beta 4 when it comes out. Reason: 2.0 supports a ton more episodes that use special scripts plus has a very wide variety of characters to play as. 1.4.4 because of the new smbx 1.4.4 projects being made. And maaaaybe 1.3.0.2 for lua support and online multiplayer.(1.3.0.1 is the same as 1.3.0.2 except 1.3.0.2 has Lunalua script support.
