PROX's World Map GFX Pack

Postby PROX » Sat Dec 09, 2017 4:52 am

I finally decided to do this. It took forever to both make and rip, but I'm so glad it's behind me now. Now you guys get to enjoy a huge pack containing nothing but world map graphics. Enjoy!

Spoiler: show
There is a forest version of this too with poison.

Yes yes YES!

I knew you were going to release it soon!

Again is good to have more from your great GFXs

Man, definitely is one of the best worldmaps I've seen...

Reminds me of the RPG Maker 2003 tiles, interesting.

The lava looks really good and I like the star paths. One issue I have is with the fortresses/castles; they're so dark and have such little contrast within the sprites that it's hard to see them against the green and dark brown background. A similar problem exists with the ghost houses. On the circular fortress, I think you need to move the windows on the bottom left and right up 2px

yeah those castles were pretty hard to do. This is what happens when you try and do so much with such little space xD

In the screenshot, I mistook the path for scenery of the same path.

Great world map tileset, my dude. They look detailed and gritty.

...With that being said, holy s**t, it looks like you took a page out of Super Smash Brothers Brawl's art design book.

well, I'm pretty sure smash didn't use 16 bit pixel art in their games. Anyway, thx.

Whenever I put the graphics in my world map folder (Not even using the scenery, just levels map tiles, and paths) I get the runtime error that should come with it if I used the scenery. Can anyone tell me why???

Something like sceneries 1-30 can't have their graphics replaced or else the editor errors. You can however add the graphics afterwards and when playing the episode as an episode it will be fine

Does that go for 2.0 aswell? I'm sure it was possible with PGE...

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I've used those sceneries with the PGE editor and had no problems, so you should be fine with that.

when testing, I never ran into such errors. If you add sceneries, put them in your episode folder rather than the default graphics. That might be what's causing the problem
