I said something on Quill's introduction thread, jokingly, and I received a lovely warning from Joey.
I received a warning, and then I was threatened a 2-day ban, skipping two extra warnings entirely, just by joking around. If that isn't strict I don't know what is, so can you please loosen up and learn to take a joke, or do people have to announce every time they make a joke?

You've had a bad reputation with a lot of the community for a while and literally the first thing you do on this forum is come and make a smartass comment. Given your previously expressed hostility towards it, it's not a surprise people aren't eager to hear snarkiness from you.

Not very welcoming in my opinion, and I was on these forums before Knux went apeshit.

When someone who has a history of being rather unamiable comes to visit and literally the first thing they say to you is something rude and sarcastic, do you give them a warm welcome?

There was no way of telling if it was a joke, it sounded more of an indirect insult if anything; I'm pretty sure you don't like Quill anyways coz I remember you 2 arguing on IRC so yeah. You've been on a forum long enough to know that you have to follow the rules, which you weren't doing, you don't need to be reminded to follow them. And when I say you didn't follow the rules, I mean you didn't follow the introduction thread rules.

Pretty tightly run place, in my opinion.

If you go anywhere, insulting someone's gender and/or sexuality, in this case gender, aren't tolerated (not to mention saying someone is on their period is highly rude).
(Coming from someone who has next to idea about your past)

well it was an insult disguised as a joke since you don't like Quill
I would say it is warranted

I was never implying anything to do with knuxforums. Not everything I say has to do with that forums or this forums in particular, maybe I wasn't even speaking about the entire community in general?
I like how just because I'm a hated member of the community and because I don't like Quill, anything I say or do will be automagically against him. If this is the community you are going to be, and if you honestly hate me being here, I don't see why you haven't banned me yet.

Because we're operating off of the present, not the past. If you don't want people here to dislike you, then strive towards a different image. But immediately going ahead and saying something like what made people dislike you in the first place is not a good first step towards that goal. If you try hard to be nicer to people and a more constructive member, I really don't think many people will hold a grudge for past actions.

Okay so you didn't mean what you said. That's fair enough. The fact that it could have been construed as rude, however, and could have incited arguing, still means you got a warning. One warning isn't really so bad. If they banned you for that on the spot, maybe you'd have a case for the staff being too strict.
Perhaps you should just apologize and be more careful with how you phrase your posts or at least specify when you're kidding next time to avoid further grievances. How would you feel if someone said that to you and you didn't realize it was a joke?
I mean maybe they were a little quick to warn you. Maybe they won't be so quick next time if you at least offer a willingness to compromise. You could do that by avoiding making these kinds of posts or at least thinking carefully about the potential consequences before deciding if it's a good idea.
I'm also one to think that a 2 day ban isn't really a big deal. That's practically a blink of an eye to me, and even then there are other things you can get done in those periods of time that you'd normally spend using the forums.

It's best not to make remarks about one's gender that might be perceived as offensive.
And please stop posing as a victim.

The real question here is...
Why is this on Sandbox when it should be on the website board?

Locking this because it's not going to go anywhere.
8bitmushroom, I warned you because the first post you made was out of line. Given your reputation, I had no reason to believe you meant that jokingly. And even if you did, that's a pretty trashy joke.
I wasn't surprised that it was your first post either, so I decided to immediately give you a warning. I didn't skip any warnings either - 2 warnings has always been a 2 day ban on the official forums. Not only that, but there was never anything that said 3 or 4 warnings were required for a ban here. We haven't written the warning system yet, but you can count on 2 warnings being a 2 day ban when we do.
