How long has it been? 5 years? Oh wow, no wonder these aged like milk. But no worries, I got that issue covered.
This new version has quite a few improvements, such as better proportions, a more pleasing colour pallet and nicer animations. I've decided to make Mario look like a modernized version of the SMW sprites. And yeah, Yoshi is included, looking better than ever. No Luigi tho, not yet, at least.
This time it uses the costume system, powered by MrDoubleA's SMW Mario script, so yeah
Please give credit to MDA for the script, and me for the sprites themselves if you wanna use these
The setup is very simple: open your level and/or episode luna.lua file and just add this line
Hello again, guys. The graphics I have posted were odd so I was remaking them. For now I have made only small, big, fire and ice Mario but I'll do other p-ups right after I post this topic. Yoshis and some power-ups were remade aswell. I have made some extra colors for Yoshis like brown, orange and white. There is some new content: NPCs like Luigi, Peach and Toads (They are animated).
1. Added Luigi as a playable (but includes only small, big, fire and ice)
2. Added some foes (Goomba and Koopa)
3. I came up with a new castlelike tileset but its WIP (you can see it on the screens below)
Update 3.1:
1. The remaining Luigi's power-ups are finished
2. New enemy graphics
3. Fixed the Tanookie statues (they look more stone-like)
4. New alternatives
5. The Castle tileset is ready-to-use (its simple but I think it works)
Greetings, SMBX community. I'm sorry for going off the topic but I wanna do some sort of introduction. I'm pretty new here but I used to deal with SMW hacking. SMW is pretty limited without using ASM language. I suck pretty much at coding so I decided to move to SMBX. I guess I'll mainly do the graphics stuff, maybe also some level designing. So, back to the topic: I wanna share some graphics with you. To begin with, I took inspiration from Newegee, he is a talented guy. I recommend you to check his stuff here:
This little pack includes Mario, power-ups and Yoshi.
The Mario gfx has only the the basic power-ups (from small to ice are included), also it requires luna lua to make this work but its fairly easy to set up (its needed for making the config work). I don't really have a clue how to use teascript for this. If there is a way to pull this off, please let me know how.
Please give a credit if you used the graphics.
Here is the video which shows the gfx:
There are the screenshots:
Mario:
P-Ups(all of them are animated):
Yoshi:
I think these graphics would fit with tilesets without outlines.
I wanna make a full gfx pack with this style in the near future. But next I'll do Mario's lil' bro, Luigi.
Update: made a little fix in the Mario graphics (alternative ice Mario was a bit outdated).
Oooohhhh crap! This is godlike, godly, and god!!!1!!!
Ummm.. I mean nice to see the improvements they no longer look flat and they fit better into other styles as well. Can't wait to see weegee playables and tile sets from you. And also the jumping toad should probably tuck his legs in when he jumps or the standing toad should tuck before he jumps

These graphics looks very unique, colorful, attractive and creative, I like every one of them, the only issue is to find a tileset that manages to fit with this style of graphics

I'm very glad you like these. Thank you guys.
I'm planning to make weegee right after I finish the remaining power-ups. I'm gonna fix toad's legs today.
I'll do the tiles aswell but it will take some time.

Finished already?! Great I'll use them
Thanks for your feedback. I was spending on them lots of free time, I really enjoy drawing stuff. Also, I started making Luigi's graphics.
Take a look:

Thank you for the feedback. The black outlines would be a lot more fitting with the rest of the SMBX graphics, but the thing is that it has some sorts of outlines (they are just the darker than the main colors) but they are used as the shadow color aswell. Its kinda similar to the ones toad and peach have. I guess its up to the tiles to make it look organic.

You definitely are a fast worker! Also in the screenshots you've shown there's grass tiles without outlines which makes me think if those are being done as well. Anyway I hope these get featured

Nah, these are not mine, but I edited them a bit. I can feature them in the pack with the credit to the creator.

Thanks a lot! I wanna make more npcs like these, so they gonna be useful for a town level in episodes.
I think I could use a hand to do the tilesets. There is lots of stuff I want to make for this pack.

I'll definitely use this in the future. Good luck on your pack!
D+E 4ever wrote:This look awesome in all sense. The most attractive is (personally) the colors. Can you adapt to SMBX 1.3.0.0?
Thank you! As WildWEEGEE mentioned, you need 1.3.0.2 version (1.3.0.1 with lua) because without it the model would be messed up due to the edited hitbox. The sprites are a bit bigger than the original ones so the editing was needed.
