Ah silly me.
I only had Mario over there for testing purposes. The masks are actually reskins of the enemy Rotodisc. The masks in the wall is a reskin of that block that shoots at you.
P.S: The "mask" is called Phanto according to SMB2.

YES I AM AWARE OF ALL THESE DOUBLE POSTS I'M MAKING SORRY BUT THESE ARE PRETTY MUCH ANNOUNCEMENTS THAT I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT'S ALL.
World 4 is now a beach themed world. I made 3 tiles (Grass over sand) for personal use for a more beachy theme. I might post a screenshot of it later.
Thanks again y'all!
EDIT: Sneaky peaky of the Beach related stuff I hinted at before.

All of these double posts are legit, c'mon :>
And what's the purpose of the bright water surface at the left?

I think it is part of the background (if you are referring to the top water surface.

The level just looks like something to speed run, and besides that looks very boring, maybe add some boats there to navigate through

That's only the first 2 screens. I made it easy so the player could easily recalibrate themselves with water physics after beating 3 worlds that scarcely focus on water.
The pace picks up very fast after the 2nd screens with moving logs, deadly plants in the water, ect. I can't just throw players into water physics and expect them to play well, that's why I slowly let them kind of safely come to customs with it.

That, my friend, is a great example of introducing a gimmick in a safe environment!
Is the clear water actually water you can swim in, or is it only the darker water you can swim in?

Darker water. The clear water is actually the background.
I kind of saw this being an issue when I chose the background, too...

They were kinda hard to see the first time, but very noticeable now.
Also I noticed that if you look at it from a certain perspective, it looks like the background water is like the swim-able water going out to sea, if you get what i mean.

Is your Episode going to have a SMB2-Styled World Map?

Yes, using Sednaiur's beautiful SMB2 world map GFX. My world map is in the works right now.

Return of the double post.
I might give you guys a new screenshot, it's been a while since I've given you guys an update. I'm trying to finally finish off World 1. ATM, I'm working on 1-2 Grassy Grasslands of Grass, involving moving layers and kamikazes. Basically, the level is split up into normal gameplay segments and then a little Kamikaze arena challenge, where you have to collect challenge coins in the mini arena. Once I finish 1-2, World 1 should be done very soon.

Just don't rush yourself.

Maybe but if the level gimmick is similar doesn't mean it. After all, you didn't invent the moving blocks in SMBX.

I mean, it did sound quite similar; my 1-1 is called Green Grasslands, his 1-2 is Grassy Grasslands of Grass; both stages feature a coin collecting challenge; etc.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing more!

Those darn Shyguy architects are once again back at it making this Ghost House more and more dangerous. What next? Toasters raining from the roof into the water?
We may never know. But what we do know is that I have totally uncovered this very top secret photo on their desk.
In case you forgot, thats 4-4 Electrical Hazard.
P.S: I'm putting in a complaint to the Shyguy Architecture Company.
