It's fine now. Thanks!

I downloaded super Mario bros. x, but I can't get any of the option menus for the level editor to load, such as tiles, backgrounds and npcs. Is there something I need to do or more files I need to download? I really want to get this to work because it seems like an awesome game. I am able to play the levels already loaded on the game, but the editor won't work for me.

Try getting 2.0 and see if that works.

what do you mean by "option menu" in the first place? You know how to use the Selection button, right?

Anyway PGE is incredibly more user-friendly.

The menus are probably appearing offscreen. there should be a scroll bar to the right, try using it to scroll down and the menus should appear there. If you want you can move them up so you don't have to keep scrolling down, they'll stay where you put them even after switching menus.

Even then PGE doesn't have that problem so it's best to just switch to 2.0.

Although I am trying to provide some actual help that isn't just "Use 2.0 instead".

Look on explaination why Joey wasn't rebuilt EXE installer: viewtopic.php?p=208346#p208346

Anyway, It's very bad choice as on Windows Vista/7+ ProgramFiles directory as install target is a bad practice as SMBX requires it be writeable. I'll try now to build an installer by myself via InnoSetup with targetting UserProfile to install where it will be 100% writeable.

EDIT: Made! http://wohlsoft.ru/docs/SMBX_1.3.0.1/sm ... -setup.exe
The installer doesn't requires admin rights to install and it installs into user profile's applications folder. Also it creates a useful shortcuts in a start menu group.

No promotion of mediafire links, it was already discussed somewhere else that an external download link might have been infected.

And even if yours is alright, then the original link is also alright.

I appreciate that but I'm using the official installer which was made 4 years go (from the link I posted yesterday). Anyways...
