Camstudio and Camtasia Studio are two different things. Camstudio is free.

Btw this is backed up by Wikipedia saying that there were numerous complaints about malware contained in the installation and current versions still seem to have this problem.

OBS for recording and shotcut for editing seem to work pretty well. Both are 100% free as well.

Use OBS. I have a licensed copy of Fraps, but it outputs really large files and is less customizable than OBS. With OBS you can do realtime editing
