I would imagine you're referring to .lvl files, but if you're referring to .sav files it could go the same way. Check to make sure your antivirus isn't deleting the files, because that is a common issue. Another issue you could be facing is that your SMBX directory is in your C: Drive (or other), which usually has a read-only setting on, so SMBX won't have the ability to write files into the C: Drive unless it has administrator permissions, which you can temporarily grant to SMBX by running it as an administrator, or you can right-click the .exe, go into properties, and set it to always run as administrator.
I'm not sure what operating system you're running on, what antivirus you have, or what the issue is exactly, so a little more information would be extraordinarily helpful.

I have Windows 10 and my antivirus is Malwarebytes, Although i will try the run as admin.
I had SMBX Installed in C:\Program Files (x86) Which is what the 1.3.0.1 installer did
Any other help is appreciated

It's easy to just move the folder out of Program Files if the problem persists. But yeah, running it in C: might be the problem.

Your issue is likely that Program Files is set to read-only, this is typically the case. Move the SMBX folder onto your desktop and try it out. If that's not the issue, then your antivirus is.

Again, please, get 2.0 and see what happens there. (Put 2.0 right on your hard disk, not on your desktop)

I've met several glitches months ago when I had it on my desktop and I was recommended by the devs to put it on the hard drive. (can't remember the details, sorry)

I don't remember any fixes in SMBX2 in regards to save files, so very likely the same problem might persist. Generally, though, it'd be a good thing if he used SMBX2 since it's the most recent version of SMBX and nothing should be holding him back.
