My honest opinion is they are a useful alternate to super leaves but hold the same ability, "flight", the only distinction is the ability to turn into a statue which can damage enemies from below it and be invincible for a short time, I would have to say, it's not as useful as the hammer suit but useful enough to get to places that the hammer suit or other powerups (with the exception of the super leaf) cannot.

You can also make the Invisible SMB3 Stone Blocks visible while as a statue.

If used correctly it is a top tier power up. Works the same way as the racoon suit when it comes to the flight, spin attack, and gliding on the air, however you get a bonus ability, that turns you into a statue, making you invincible in this form. This can be useful in many occasions, for example, if there is an attack that is nearly guaranteed to hit you, you can just turn into a statue and avoid it without trouble
